Ongoing NC GOP debacle thread

Makes one wonder why anyone in California smokes. Not to mention the American tobacco industry never could have grown to the heights that it did without Hollywood.
 
Smoking on TV stopped about 40-50 years ago. t's not cool to smoke in Hollywood any more.

But keep supporting the biggest and most devastating drug dealers in the US.
 
Only to you a few other morons on the board is giving people a way to save their lives or let police/EMTs know your wishes in life-threatening situations would be a negative.

RJ, the typical North Carolinian has about as much to do with how much tobacco is grown in this state as you do with Dwayne Johnson making $15 million per movie. I think you know that, but if you want to take credit for Bill Gates productivity, knock yourself out.

However, please recognize that your lectures on how backward the state in which you chose to attend college are wearing thin and are a perfect example of why everyone can't stand you.

How come your #1 cash crop makes people high and so unproductive, makes them eat more and crash their cars? Makes them re-elect a governor like Moonbeam Brown. How come your state if short on revenue and high on debt? You have tremendously high state taxes, missed public retirement payments and unstable funding on K-12 education. You have a bunch of liberals in Hollywood who think people give a squat about what they think, when in fact they are actually only acting
like they are someone else in films--and now they have pissed off the 47% of the deplorables, they are going to stop going to their movies--starting with Meryl Streep's!

Though it would be sweet if marijuana was indeed CA's number one cash crop. Reff could definitely benefit from a toke or two.
 
TheReff is an example of how America is even dumber than everyone thinks since he would be counted in the, he must be educated he went to college crowd.
 
Not a ton of action yet from the General Assembly but a few bills filed to note:

- $100 fine if caught driving with a pet on your lap. Makes sense, a possible safety concern on the road\
- Reducing size of the UNC Board of Governor's. Haven't looked into this one much, devil is in the details
- switching all municipal elections to even-numbered years. Already the case in Winston-Salem (on the presidential cycle). Saves municipalities money (they reimburse County's for holding elections), more turnout.
 
I have a friend in Texas whose church is protesting. He was very upset to find out he was supposed to get a Soros check.
 
Governor Cooper HB2 proposal

1. Repeal HB2
2. Tougher penalties for crimes in bathrooms
3. Local governments must give 30 day notice on any discrimination (or non-discrimination?) votes
