Ongoing US GOP Debacle Thread: Seditious Republicans march toward authoritarianism

They are the ones comparing him to OJ, and OJ killed two people.

The face palm should be about Trumpees comparing him to OJ.

Once you get past the usual "we like him because the economy is so good" line, that entire article boils down to "we support Trump because he owns the libs." Most of the people interviewed offered some version of "he really, really pisses off liberal elites living in their ritzy big cities and looking down their noses on good God-fearing Middle Americans like us. He's the only person who's standing up for Real Americans!" Articles like these always seem to be variations on the same theme.

Trump literally shits on gold.

This is brilliant. Steve Schmidt is a brilliant man with one glaring mistake on his resume that will haunt him for the rest of his career.

So Graham is basically like the little toady in A Christmas Story who serves as the sidekick and suck-up to Scott Farkus, neighborhood bully. That is a good take.

Pretty much.

And in this way he is a clear distillation of Republicans.

Power. Obtaining it, maintaining it. Feeding off of it. That's what matters. Not truth, right, good.

Emphasis added.

I also noted the emphasis on "roaming the streets of DC and big cities." Trump voters simply hate urban dwellers, they seem to see them as being as foreign and un-American as Iranians or Iraqis. And Trump is their protector and savior from being ruled by such people. Keeping these people from ever regaining power appears to be the overriding goal of the entire Trumpite base - even though Trump himself and many of his cronies are themselves residents of big urban areas. Trump may love the adoration he gets from the rubes, but he wouldn't be caught dead staying or living where they do. It's beneath him.

I hope Bloomberg spends a few million in SC to try to beat Graham. It would be very, very tough to do, but would be worth it.

Yep. The obvious revenue stream post election would have been to open a bunch of mid value hotels in secondary and tertiary red state markets. Trump could have cashed in big time.

Nope. He’s sticking with his current properties almost all of which are located in coastal states.

“Defend our country.” Seems like they’d join the military if they wanted to defend our country.

Maybe they’re talking about a different “our.”
