Online Virtual Coach Simulation

Seems like a good time to put out my ratings. Here are the basics.
--Ratings are converted to -3.5 (None-) to +3.5 (Exc+). Ratings are normally distributed through the population as are the projected ratings.

E = +2.5 - +3.5
G = +1.0 - +2.0
F = -0.5 - 0.5
P = -2.0 - -1.0
N = -3.5 - -2.5

--I project ratings using stats and controlling for other ratings.
--I account for Scout by adjusting my projected ratings with the listed ratings. For example, an Exc Scout player ratings = 80% listed ratings, 20% projected ratings. For Poor Scout, it's 20% listed, 80% projected. I will probably adjust that in the future, but it's fine for now.

McEachern comes out much higher in his projections than the adjusted. He's the leading scorer at 32.3. Hard to imagine he isn't Exc. I really need a scorer, so I'm prefing him behind Blount. I'll be fine with Howard or Whitney. I'll be small regardless.

Good stuff from both of you guys, appreciate the data/info. Gotta disagree with you both on Carlisle, think he bumps in Def and Rebounding and has a chance to hold at Exc ATH but that's what I enjoy about this game is trying to figure it out better than your position. Hope I land him and get to actually see where he ends up! You guys have me a bit more excited on Perry than I was originally so I hope the odds work out in my favor. Hes EXC local and i'm in his conference and the team tied with me is in our pod but he's several conferences away. I'll have a slight advantage in local but everything else factoring in is probably equal. Interesting to see how the recruiting works out this season.

Well crap and three of us looked at the schedule too. I've adjusted the spreadsheet to fix this moving forward. To do so changes 3 of your matches though as well as a few others including 2 of mine which are already confirmed, so let's just roll with it as is for this season.

This will be the 'trial run' tournament. Anyone else spot issues with their schedules?

Here's the adjusted schedule (FOR NEXT SEASON)
Exh Game 1 1 10 Exh Game 2 1 8 Exh Game 3 1 7
2 9 2 7 2 6
3 8 3 6 3 5

6 9 8 9 8 7

Let me know if you spot any other errors so I can fix the spreadsheet.

OK. I'll request Oxford for Game 2 and I'll get a rando for Game 3.

Seems like a good time to put out my ratings. Here are the basics.

Good stuff! I'm doing something similar to you. I'm adjusting each attribute +/- based on scouting to give me a range. So for example the disputed Carlisle has a min Shot Rating of .38 and a max of .64. He then has a stat shot rating of .45. I admittedly need to tweak the stat rating system which I will do after getting some data to work with, but the general concept is that using the stat rating, I will eventually be able to judge if the player is closer to the min or the max rating. In this particular case the range is pretty small. Some cases might be 1.75 (almost E) to 0.25 (almost F).

Using this system, in case you are interested Tau. I'd also recommend you go with Ph's #s as my system is a work in progress.

PlayerEstimated AttributesNotes
Samuel PerryGFGEFFHe's right on the edge for both Defense and Hands. Could go either way G or F. Curious how it turns out.
Hector CarlisleFGFGFGHe's on the cusp with INT and might get there with some training. While my system doesn't, I think He bumps to E athletic as well.
Nikola RousePEGFFFLike PH's, my system likes his hands better than Awaken. It has him solidly in G.
Victor BuieGFGPGGAnother one that it'll be interesting seeing reality. DEF and REB are straddling the line as Awaken and I have each different.
Brett RobinsonFGPFFG

Once you get these guys it'll be interesting to see their actual numbers so we can compare the three systems and which one's are more accurate. It's likely that we'll all be good and bad at different things. It's also probably going to take a few seasons to perfect these, at least in my case as it's almost entirely brand new system from what I was doing previously.

RTT Update

Amarillo Nightmare 75
Garland Money 68

I know it's below the NIT in value, but a tourney win is a tourney win and my first ever in DTL. To me that's exciting, especially considering what this team looked like going into the RTT. This pushed our final ranking to #95. Hoping that gives us an edge on a tie or two tomorrow!

Finished 2-7 in the tournaments for a disappointing 13-11. Not sure if that will give me enough Win edge.

Finished 2-7 in the tournaments for a disappointing 13-11. Not sure if that will give me enough Win edge.

And to think I was happy to finish 13-11. LMAO. At least tomorrow, these teams start to be ours.

Well shit...lost all three ties. Got my one CL and two walkons. I hate this game.

Flores' choice is going to be an interesting one. Based on 6'7 to 6'11 here are the 'impact' players who will potentially decide who lands Juan.

Silver City 1
Anchorage 1
Amarillo 2
Panama City 2
Duluth 2
Pittsburgh 3
Burbank 3
Boulder 5
NY City 5

Not sure what the actual odds of success are for each team but It would appear Silver City and Anchorage will be in the drivers seat. I estimate those teams each have roughly a 23% shot with Amarillo, Panama City and Duluth roughly 11% winning the lottery. NY And Boulder have a 5% chance at the stud.

Surprisingly, Flores went to Pittsburgh giving them the 61/53 Class.

Amarillo pulled in the 8/5 Class winning 1 tie.

Frank Riddle (71) +7 1/1 - I believe winning the RTT pushed us ahead in the tie as both teams had identical records and impact. Winning the RTT gave us a higher ranking. Riddle brings a ton of talent to the Nightmare and potentially solidifies SF or takes over @ PG.

Hugh Maly +4/-2 CL - A big man who turned out a little worse than I expected. His athleticism and hands are a bit of a concern but he should still be able play a role in the post @ PF or C.

Matthew Cox +6 CL - A glue guy who will find a spot in the starting lineup, question is where.

Didn't get any of my maxes. I only got Cameron Howard (GFPEFG) and two walk-ons. Ismael Burns (6-7/232) is PFGGGG. The other is garbage (Riley Payne).

Cody McEachern may not have been a huge miss. He shot 12.0-24.6 fg. You don't get much more "volume shooter" than that.

Ugh. Durham gets 177/191 class of one CL and two walk-ons, and the CL was disappointing. These guys are replacing a 65/77 graduating class, so a step back in the Bull City.

Think I like Biles the best also, especially as he provides a different look than my other better possibilities, who all look like combo forwards to me. Leaning towards priority of 1. Biles 2. (Oliver, Franklin, Garey) 3. Landon 4. Copeland

Pretty good day for Stillwater, as we land the 4/6 class . Went with the above priority scheme and ended up with all three in group 2, which means I lost the 1/1 on Biles but broke a 4/4 for Raymond Oliver, to go along with the two 0/0s (Franklin became a CL this week). It also means that I add three forwards, one of whom will have to play a bit out of position, but certainly no complaints overall. The new Deep Runs:

Brandon Franklin:6'9 egefpf - very surprised that his shooting bumped up, especially since he shot under 50%. Pretty solid from 3 though, which we could definitely use. Probably starts off at pf.

Raymond Oliver: 6'6 geffef - was thinking g hands and f/g int (how is 3.21/54 exc intel???) but I'll take it. Solid fg% but not great from 3 - should add a solid scoring option as a very solid two-way player, likely at sf.

Orion Garey: 6'6 ggfeef - even worse than Oliver from deep but overall should be a pretty nice addition for us. Going to test him out at c but not sure he'll stick there.

Despite the strong class we're still probably a year away as our srs and jrs are both among the worst in the country. Not really sure how c26 is going to play out though; the conference as a whole had a very weak senior class but signing day was a bit of a shitshow. The second best class was 90/110.

More details on the 8/5 Nightmare Class

Frank Riddle FGEGGE 45.6% fgp
Matthew Cox GGGGGG 45.9% fgp 89.6 ftp
Hugh Maly GGPEFP 55% fgp

All 3 averaged 9.5 RB or more and 1 steal and 1.1 blk both were major anothers area of need.

I'm leaning towards having Riddle replacing Beatty @ PG and Cox replace French @ SF. Maly will join Wade either @ PF or C. Leaning center at the moment.

Unfortunately, Norman in Warak's division came away with the #1/1 recruiting class.
