Durham let the cpu set the lineup, and got the 60-49 win over St Martinville. I was going to start Mixon at PG, but he led all scorers with 23 pts at SF, so there he stays.

Very glad to see big man Ty Emery with Good+ Local Pref in Durham. That's one max, undoubtedly among many. I'll try to live up to his Good- Win, but with only 10 wins last year that looks doubtful.

With either a full league or new DTL rules, it seems recruiting toward preferences is more important than ever. I'm going to be more strict with myself to match prefs. I've taken Durham from a decent team with good starters and weak bench to a pretty average team. I usually recruit either guards or big men in a single class, but now I am bad enough to BPA. Anyone that is not a walk-on can either fill a need or upgrade somewhere. The key this cycle is no walk-ons. I'm also going back to the old exercise of creating a team of +4's, and perhaps concentrate on recruiting those types. Recruits that are generalists instead of specialists get more attention.

DaDeacs, I'd either post on boards or PM kmoney about losing that CL. Per boards, that should not happen. I wouldn't necessarily complain, but wonder how the game works.

So the Iron Deacs did ok this season in recruiting. Of course replacing a plus 200 ranked class meant odds are there would be improvement. The newest Iron Deacs are:
Mick Scott 6-1 FGEEFG
Scott was a 1/1 tie with I think Seattle. He'll immediately become the PG. He had great assist numbers in high school and in his first game with us had 8 assists. This will allow us to put Meiji in what I think is his natural position of SG.

CL Micah Wiggins6-8. FGGFEF
We needed height badly in recruiting. Wiggins certainly helps with that. He looks to be a defensive presence. This season he'll probably start at C. Hopefully some more height will let him eventually slide to PF in the coming seasons.

CL Ty Furr 6-8. FGFFGF
Another reach for any height I could find. Defensive minded as well. bPF is where he'll end up.

+12 as a team. With a 48/87 class. I'm hopeful for a winning class. Although it looks like the mags call us the 5th best team in c16. Maybe we'll surprise someone.

Well hell, my interest has come back a little with the play of my FR. They are killing it so far!

I actually came here to say...I have never been so disappointed with what was my best player since I took over this team. I have this 5’10 +6 (+1 in every category), but he is utterly invisible. He doesn’t score, play D, 3/2 ast/to or rebound very well. WTF!?! He is the equivalent of another walk-on!

Surprising Win for Amarillo over Flagstaff. We overcame our +7 PG only playing 15 minutes by having 5 players score in double figures, including +3/-2 Dylan Fluegal. The freshman getting the start at Center. The +10/-3 FR class combined for 20 Rebounds, filling a much needed hole. This season will be all about finding scoring.

Amarillo Nightmare 75
Flagstaff WhipperSnappers 72

Good Game Tau, good luck this season.

Good game. Trying a few things out obviously but not a bad start. I think you will see that Junior class really come into their own this season. GL the rest of the year.

Amarillo spanked Durham 78-58 with their bench outscoring mine 38-11. Oof.

Everyone on Amarillo scored in the match and is sparking my interest a bit. The key factor felt like the rebounding margin of 39 to 24. Thanks for the game and good luck this season.

Anybody else having trouble getting in? It's only letting me get in with my old account.

By the way, I'm sorry I completely screwed up the Deacon Invitational. I saw reminders on Tapatalk and just forgot to do it when at my laptop. I'll do better next season.

So far, my 6-9 FFGFFF Soph C is averaging 13.7 pts, 12 reb in the exhibitions. He averaged 3 and 4 off the bench last year. My GGFGGG former starter only averaged 5 and 6.6 last season. The ratings are so random.

Picked up a win over San Diego and their #3/#2 class. Held stud big Infant Fleming to 7 and 10.

To be fair to my boys, the CPU set my lineup there too (no internet connection from Friday-Monday), and they opted not to play the returning C9 player of the year.

My first choice lineup just put it on Flagstaff 64-39. Is Flagstaff any good this year?

I sent out 4 open scrimmages and the same damn dude got all 4. That’s was useful....

I think this Flagstaff team is decent, probably win an extremely weak C32 but we aren’t anything special. I was playing a test lineup in that game, had 2, maybe 3 of my actual 5 starters sitting but still very surprised by the result. What’s your team defensive +/-?

That's still a thing in this game? Looking at my roster, I was under the assumption K-money hadn't programmed Defense yet...

Durham is lucky this recruiting cycle and is focusing on home-grown recruits from its local high school. We'll be maxing:

Kyle Covalt - pure scorer at 34ppg. F+ Local. Hoping his hideous hands and fair defense scare people away. This is a SG/bSG you set at 9/9.
Ty Emery - I think he projects to GGGGGG, which would make him easily the best player on my team. Hope Kyle is stifling his scoring some, and will continue to do so at the next level. He is G+ local.

I have not decided on a third max yet, but recruiting BPA since my team now sucks.

Does this sound familiar? - took a modest 3 pt lead into half time and what would be the 4th quarter, then gets outscored in the final 6 minutes of the game to lose a close one, 64-62. Had to sink a meaningless 3 at :05 to make is closer than it was. Nice game, warak. Good luck this year.

Starters are +8/-0, Reserves are +6/-0, NA are +3/-0

I had him projected gGFFPG

GGPF_F. I'm assuming he's a PG.

Figured i'd lead us off with recruiting this year. 0-2 start has me already in next year mode haha.

Flagstaff will be going pretty safe with recruiting and I don't think i'm taking any big swings on anyone that should be too highly ranked. Very conservative and trying to bring in at least two bigs, if not a 3, one of which can play the SF if continue to add size. I'll be heavily recruiting:

Christopher Rush C12
Matthew Henderson C21
Parker Burton C22 (my most aggressive max, and probably dumb)
Raymond Richardson C29

Have two other guys that i'll be soft maxing up into the mid 30 RPs as well as sort of a soft max as I do a smaller net. Interested to see how that plays out for me....

I'll be doing something similar. I've had very good luck identifying solid players unlikely to be maxed, but it's clear I need to win ties to truly bolster my lineup. I'm going to soft max two guys unlikely to be maxed and go all in for four studs.

GGPF_F. I'm assuming he's a PG.

Correct, he was a PG.

Tyler King.......FFFGPF

Those have to be some crazy high F+'s in there. 19.6ppg on Fair shooting and athleticism. 1.7 spg +.3 bpg = 2.0 defense is Fair? Both of those are 1 sd over mean.

I am not making a lineup to see if/where the cpu puts him. I'm hoping he is like that guy Ph has/had that had terrible attributes but played well in games.

Wow. I only got 1 of 5 right. I don't understand how a player with Fair- Hands and 3.6 to isn't actually Poor.

It's so hard to eyeball these players and my system has yielded solid players who I can get but not true studs. I won ties for Zaire Billings and he was good last year (12.4 pts, 5.1 reb), but not a complete stud. Yet he is easily my best player.
