Pro Life / Pro Choice Debate

But what this current makeup of SCOTUS presupposes…maybe they don’t?

Yep. The Constitution is only what 5 people on the Supreme Court say it is. And there is a whole right-wing legal complex working 24/7 to come up with “passable” arguments that can go right into right-wing majority opinions and a conservative media ecosystem that can make those arguments mainstream.

They lied under oath about Roe, they are going to dismantle the administrative state entirely -- they'll do whatever they want.

So these sick and twisted Republican Governors think if a woman is raped and becomes pregnant then she must have the baby?

People will still find ways to get an abortion regardless of the law.

Considering that the Heritage Foundation hand-picks Republican judicial nominees and cabinet appointees

In short, yes. I listened to an interview with some OK state legislator on BBC Newshour on NPR and they asked her about why OK law doesn't provide exceptions for rape or incest and the response was basically "The fetus is the only victim here".

"People will still find ways to get an abortion regardless of the law."

Yeah. But those abortions may not be safe, especially for low-income women. And by doing so, they'll expose themselves to risk of getting arrested and going to prison.

I saw somewhere that companies sell data about cell phones that ping at abortion clinics. And it's possible governments could get data from apps that track periods.

It's not far fetched that state governments would track who goes to clinics across the border or go to the Supreme Court for the right to force other states to give up information about out-of-staters who go to their clinics.

One thing that many people in the general public probably aren't aware of is just how draconian a lot of these anti-abortion laws are going to be in many states. They won't just abolish abortion, they'll make it crime even if the woman gets the abortion out-of-state, and they'll also make it a crime for anyone to assist said woman in getting an abortion out-of-state. They also will make no exceptions for rape or incest, or even if the mother's life could be in danger. It's going to be brutal in many red states.
