Report: Kavanaugh won’t commit to recusal from Trump/Mueller related matters

What’s the hold up then? How many democratic votes do they need to confirm him?

You don’t have any argument. All you have left as a Party is the Smear.

Democrats have become a truly pathetic party of division. I am truly happy that this dividing spirit has come between the Dems and the Socialist Dem party.

Cheers.

So you recognize the pattern of sexual abuse by men in power too. You've grown so much.

It's not like it's only Republicans getting caught up in these sort of allegations, so it's really bizarre that the Pubs are so defensive about these allegations. If Kavanaugh isn't confirmed, then you will just nominate someone else and get them confirmed in a few weeks. You're going to get your conservative majority on the court eventually, so why stick up for this guy?

not necessarily, if the Senate goes D in 6 weeks

Hypothetical: do you think a 17 year old male football player who was determined to committ sexual assault on a 15 year old girl would have allowed her to get away? Do you think that same assailant, once frustrated, would have committed sexual assault on the same or another person in the next 36 years?

I don't even know what point you are trying to make here.

I’m having a hard time finding an answer to my question in this post. You are expressing frustrating at delaying the inevitable, and I’m just wondering how many votes are needed from Democratic Senators to move forward at a pace that suits your desire.

Kavanaugh will be a Supreme Court Justice there’s no denying that. It won’t be because his name is completely cleared though. It will be because it never mattered in the first place. Team leader made his pick, and the team was never not going to fall in line. It’s what republicans do better than anything else.

Is this serious? Geez. I can’t take you seriously if this is actually serious. This perspective on rape is outdated at best.

Just confirm the guy and get over yourselves. Nobody from the R side sees this as anything than typical cooked-up Democrat smear ploy. I mean how many times can you employ this sort of gaslight-Fuck job before people recognize the pattern?

Patent horsehit on the eve of nomination.

Fuck You. We are not taking this seriously. We are going to ride this blue wave of smeared feces until 2 Monday’s from now when Kavanaugh will be properly confirmed as he should be

Hypothetical: do you think a man who committed serious sexual assault as a teenager but doesn't have this fact discovered until 30 years later should still be made to answer for his sexual assault?

Lectro please respond

GOP has to. Otherwise they'd have to consider the fact that maybe they and their GOP brethren are not the upstanding American citizens they've made themselves out to be.

I have been clear. There is no debate for me. I don’t accept the premise and I certainly don’t respect any of the players in this blatant smear. You really have to be a true blue moron to believe this whipped up shit surprise.

Not playing. Looking forward to Justice Kavanaughs service

If the Dems win the WH and Senate in 2020, should they raise the number of Justices to 11 or 15? The number at nine is purely arbitrary. A simple logic is that there nine Justice when there were 4M citizens, adding to that number is reasonable when we have more than 80 times the population and far more issues.

Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein probably don’t think so.

Libs - just on memory

Charlie Rose
Matt Lauer
Les Moonves
Garrison Keillor
Kevin Spacey
John Conyers
Al Franken

for starters... and the Democrats even had/have a slush fund to cover/pay off their harrasment charges.

I'm readily conceding the SCOTUS seat to Kavanaugh. I want to know what you think in general and this is the perfect time to bring it up. Yes or no: Do you think that men should be held accountable for sexual assault that happened in their adolescence or early adulthood?

Sorry I'm not a right-wing hack, but I'll try to answer #2.

The GOP are unable to jettison Kavanaugh because it would mean admitting that sexual assault that happened at any time in a person's life is disqualifying for higher office. That doesn't jive with many things going on in the GOP right now (least of which, obviously, is Trump). The GOP's primary defense outside of denial that anything happened has been, "Sure it happened, but that's just how boys are at that age and we shouldn't make a big deal out of it." For many men, especially GOP Congressmen, the idea of being held accountable for actions throughout your life is abhorrent. If Kavanaugh goes down, it means that they have to look at themselves in the mirror and reflect on their own actions from their youth. It's easy to look at Al Franken or a Hollywood celebrity and stand on their moral high ground and say, "Democrats and liberals have a sexual assault issue." It's unthinkable for them to give that same criticism to their own party.

Everything really comes down to one question: Should men be held accountable for their actions from youth through the present day? The answer is undoubtably "Yes", but the GOP is screaming "NO" at the top of their lungs.

Bit of self-patting-on-the-back, but if this isn't hitting the fucking nail on the head, I don't know what else is.

this is strange

No it isn’t. There is a pattern among people who behave as he has been charged. Kavanaugh doesn’t fit the bill.

Why don’t you take a bath and wash a blatant smear off so you might reconnect with logic and reason.

No wonder you mofers believe everything the mothership tells you. You are a legion of DOPES

It is strange to think that evidence (or the lack thereof) of later abuse by the alleged abused is probative as to whether allegations of prior abuse are true?

Just to be clear, you are saying that if someone is sexually assaulted once, then they have to be sexually assaulted again for it to count?

Weird how Pubs like to name libs who stepped down from powerful positions as a defense for why Pubs shouldn’t.

Negative. What it is is that so many Democratic wigs and wheels have gone down the shitter these last 2 years.

Being the slime balls they are the Dems have sought to transfer their own transgressions in a display of deflection and denial.
