Republicans for POTUS, 2016 Edition

I honestly don't know a lot about Kasich. What is his M.O.?

Kasich is an improved version of Walker: more of a concensus builder, Governor of an important swing state, and has House experience. GOP base loves Walker, but he's got a low ceiling in a general election.

Huckabee is a raging dumbass lunatic, and anyone who contributes to his campaign or votes for him should be chemically sterilized.

Chris Wallace slapped Huckabee around without even mentioning supporting the Duggars or the Ireland vote (must have been taped Saturday morning because of the holiday weekend). Wallace went after Huckabee on lack of entitlement reform, flat tax, and ignoring Supreme Court rulings. Fox is in the tank for Chamber of Commerce 'Pubs and wants nothing to do with social conservative clowns like Huckabee.

Wallace did really eviscerate him over his stances in his presidential declaration speech.

Jindal's pretty much hosed. Thanks to term limits, he's out of a job in January. His approval rating is 27% and he's running at 1% in the presidential polls. Won't make the cut for the first GOP debate and not popular enough in state to replace Vitter in the Senate. He's the lamest of lame ducks. LA's in the GOP bag for 2016 and the base would prefer several others as VP.

He was elected governor in Arkansas. Would you suggest taking that action against all the people who voted for him?

Maybe you prefer the approach of the Tories' David Cameron.

“For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens: as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone. It’s often meant we have stood neutral between different values. And that’s helped foster a narrative of extremism and grievance. This government will conclusively turn the page on this failed approach.”

Bill actually carried LA in both his campaigns. Has it changed so dramatically HRC can't carry it?

Yes. The demographics and partisan divide are much different now than 24 years ago.

Yes.

"In his 1992 Senate campaign, Huckabee called for AIDS patients to be isolated from the general public. In response to a candidate questionnaire from the Associated Press, he stated:

If the federal government is truly serious about doing something with the AIDS virus, we need to take steps that would isolate the carriers of this plague. It is difficult to understand the public policy towards AIDS. It is the first time in the history of civilization in which the carriers of a genuine plague have not been isolated from the general population, and in which this deadly disease for which there is no cure is being treated as a civil rights issue instead of the true health crisis it represents.[28]

In the same statement, Huckabee also opposed increasing federal funding for HIV/AIDS research and suggested that Hollywood celebrities should provide additional funds instead."

His words, not mine.

AIDS was a crisis because of the behavior of certain people, including heterosexuals screwing around and people abusing drugs. We know you will go to any length to defend homosexual behavior, so it's not surprising that you are so "offended" by his policy. Next time I'll give you a trigger warning.

Da fuq? "Defend homosexual behavior"?

Santorum announcing today. His polling is worse now than it was 4 years ago. By 2016 he will have been out of politics for 10 years after getting thumped by 18 points in an attempt at a third Senate term. Hard to pretend PA voters didn't have sufficient data to make an informed decision. Is there really a pot of gold out there for a wannabe who failed to get the GOP nomination twice?

He is announcing in Butler PA...a bigger shit hole you will not find.

Yes. He was the runner up last time. He has an audience. He can convince some deep pockets to pay him to spread their message.
