Shot Clock Reduced to 30 seconds

A lot of the elite teams, such as Duke, foul on every play and dare the ref to call a foul. Since they are cowed by the aura that is Duke and K's verbal abuse, they don't.

Then tell the players to stop committing so goddamned many fouls! The referees are only calling a tiny fraction of the fouls that are committed now.

The players are the problem....not the referees. The referees have an impossible job to do with players constantly committing fouls all the damned time.

It's not an impossible job. Call every foul. Put every player in foul trouble. Coaches will adjust.

Exactly BKF. If it was called exactly as the rules stated, nobody would be left in the game to play. "They" keep talking about the physicality of the game, which you want allowed when your team is on defense, but let your guy get mugged going to the hole or ridden out of bounds trying to get keep his position in the lane for a rebound and it is not fair. Call the walks, which has made a mockery of some of the NBA playoffs, seeing what they have done in the open court with their feet, because no defense in the world can cover a person who is allowed to A-palm the basketball anyway by cupping it from the hand inside to the wrist and B-taking 3 steps around an illegal pick on their way to the hole.

Let's get the wrassling out of the game and get it back to the free flowing game of beauty it can be. I will be interested to see what they call for on the Points of Emphasis when the actual changes come out. Then will they actually stick with those past November when the coaches go to squawking about them?

That's what I would love to see happen....but you would hear a boatload of whining & crying before the adjustments were made. First of all, in the beginning, it would take about 2 hours to play the first half of the game....and you would probably have situations where some teams had to finish the game with fewer than five players.

It would be very interesting, though, to see how long it took the players to realize that they could no longer get away with all the illegal shit that they are getting away with now. Old habits are hard to break, so my guess is that it would take awhile to beat it into their heads.

They need more coaches who don't mind beating and choking players! That will get it into their heads quicker.

You're fighting a losing battle. The game has changed. The athleticism has changed. The viewership has changed.

YOU need to change or just stop watching it. I thought "progressive" socialists were all about change. Hmmm.

College offenses generally suck. Having them run the dribble-drive motion offense for five more seconds isn't going to open up a better bricked jumper.

He has stopped watching it. He just wants to make sure everyone is 100% clear on why. He's the original millennial.
