I know this is off topic-ish, but this isn't worth taking the moment to find a more generic SW thread. This is the first bit of info that's got me interested in the Solo movie. It's a deep cut you can find more info about in the Tweet's responses.

Yeah basically. Not to mention Billy Dee Williams is 80. He was 43 when Empire came out.
 
I mean, he was a general who played a major role in defeating the Empire. Not exactly irrelevant.

There’s only room for one token black guy that doesn’t do anything through out the films. Add in another and the movie becomes a hour longer.

You all want a lot more stuff but a shorter film.
 
Could just make him the code breaker drunk and gambling at casino world, tired of the fighting he never really signed up for. Refuses to help until he learns that Han is dead, there just put 80 year old Lando in the movie.

It's pretty much what they are going to say about General Organa at the open of IX. Either that or they will open with a funeral ceremony on Yavin because it will make nostalgic olds feel things.

I thought Lando would be the code breaker. I was disappointed to find out it's The Collector.
 
My biggest WTF was when Captain Phasma and the Stormtroopers were about to kill Fill and Rose and then purple haired Ellie Sattler fires the cruiser into all the First Order ships and then they cut back and all of the Stormtroopers and Phasma had vanished - and there were like hundreds of people there, but only Finn and Rose remained. I was like where df did they all just go?

Did the movie show where they went? Then why are you even worried about it? It's irrelevant.
 
I wonder how much crossover there is between people who need to see Lando in Ep IX, but are mad they're making a Han Solo movie starring Donald Glover as Lando.

It wasn't. They left because a freakin' cruiser just went lightspeed through their destroyer.

My biggest wtf was that scene, except when they jump on the AT-ST (or whatever it is) with BB-8 and the glass cockpit is blown out and it looks like the AT-ST just jumps into outer space with them all exposed.

It's a continuity issue - in one moment there were hundreds of stormtroopers, cut away, cut right back, everyone except Finn and Rose gone. I don't see how you can say it's irrelevant to put a couple heroes in mortal danger and then just cut away and all a sudden everything is (basically) fine.

If it was relevant, it would be in the film. That's fact not opinion. You're not quibbling with 07. You're quibbling with the people who made the film.
