I thought TLJ was ok but expect it to get worse with subsequent viewings over time.
Christensen wasn't the problem with the prequels, IMO. It was the script/direction. When I did the marathon before TFA, I kept noticing during the prequels that there are decent movies hidden in there, and I think that's something that's lost when you're not watching them for ~9 hours straight. Christensen had really good chemistry with McGregor and McDiarmid, but literally none with Portman, which is a problem given how much focus Lucas ended up giving to Anakin's relationship with Padme.
I think the biggest issue with the prequels was that they shot themselves in the foot by keeping Christensen away from actors with whom he actually shared chemistry.
I would agree that Christensen wasn't THE problem with the sequels but he was certainly part of the problem.
Darth Maul was way too cool a villain and he shouldn't have been killed off so soon.
Pod Racing was neat but was given way too much screen time in the first one.
Jar Jar.
There should have been a lot more focus on the Jedi Order at the height of its power than the love story between Anakin and Padme. Yes, we all know they bang and make a Luke and Leia, we don't need to dedicate a full movie to setting that up.
The Anakin-Padme focus was in AOTC not TPM. I agree TPM should have focused more on the Jedi Order, but it did show their hubris and establish that it was a problem.
Story woulda been way better w/ Padme just getting preggers in TPM
Thats a very good description actuallyjust saw it. felt like a comic book movie with star wars characters. color me meh.
Too much Marvel creep
