It has nothing to do with preseason ranking. If anything, their preseason ranking contributes to the premise of this thread.

They are 3-10 versus Top 25 teams in the past two years. They aren't "giant killers".

That's the reason I didn't start this thread last year and waited to start it until AFTER they had killed a giant.

But c'mon, "absolute ceiling?" I mean, Mitchell is a big time recruit. Even if you didn't know who was playing with him at all you can't justify that statement.

How many "big time" recruits have fizzled under Buzz since he arrived at Wake? The Buzz ceiling is mediocrity. An occasional NCAAT appearance under Buzz is possible, but certainly not expected.
