Stay Classy Dick

Well that's an accurate representation in so far as we all recognize that many members of the GOP unequivocally stated they would never go anywhere except for Chilis unless Obama guaranteed that no matter where else they ate they would also have to go to Chilis regardless.

LOL ^ Missing the point entirely. I already the said the Pubs are culpable. Obama is too. Its more like:

Obama: Lets go to Applebees
Pubs: No lets go Chilis
Obama: No, Lets go to Applebees
Pubs: No lets go to Chilis
Obama: No, Lets go to Applebees
Pubs: No lets go to Chilis
Obama: No, Lets go to Applebees
Pubs: No lets go to Chilis
Obama: No, Lets go to Applebees
Pubs: No lets go to Chilis
Obama: AAAGH, the Pubs won't work with me!
Pubs: AAAGH, Obama won't work with me!

Fox News Reports: AAAGH, Obama won't work with Pubs!
OGBoards comments: AAGH, the Pubs won't work with Obama!

srsly?

Pubs: Obama's a commie muslim socialist black pussy dictator kenyan douchbag gun stealing idiot. Now, agree to my deal or I'll shut down the government, hold up all your nominations, even shut down the Department of Homeland Security to keep your evil liberal agenda from further destroying this great Christian nation. Deal?

Which part in the 2nd paragraph? Did W not work across the aisle all the way through his presidency despite some really long odds? Or is Obama making any effort in his 2nd 4 years to do anything but piss off his opponents? Obama is not nearly as bad as the Republicans in Congress make him out to be, but Obama still has a job to do. I respect your opinion, but going to have to say the facts disagree. You can blame the Republicans for their actions (and you would be right in doing so), but Obama still has to answer for his actions. You can't always cry to mommy that it is someone else's fault. Eventually your choices have to matter, and Obama's choice has been to give up and score political points. That is just reality. W, continued to put his nose to the grindstone and do some meaningful things in his last years. We are all responsible for the choices we make. No matter the odds.

I respect your opinions as well Wrangor but after you hear this:

"McConnell: The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president."

and experience this:

"In the history of the United States, 168 presidential nominees have been filibustered, 82 blocked under President Obama, 86 blocked under all the other presidents." since 1949 should be added as a caveat.

and this:

and this:

http://blogs.reuters.com/great-deba...rs-grudge-match-against-the-u-s-constitution/

And the continuous threat to shut down the government every year, questioning his nationality, religion and patriotism, calling him a liar during the SOTU address...I could go on, but what incentive has the guy received to attempt to even work with Republicans? I'm honestly asking because I can't think of or don't remember any, and I hope I'm wrong.

Obama is Applebee's. OMG Applebee's sucks so bad. At least Chili's makes bitchin' fajitas. Applebee's can't even do that.

Which politician equals which chain restaurant could be a fun thread...

1st paragraph, excellent analysis. 2nd paragraph, not excellent analysis.

Wrangor got it right. In fact, I went to thejerkstore.com and they were all out of Obama.

Obama shouldn't need an incentive to be a great president. I am not pardoning the republicans. They are clearly guilty as charged. But the day we elect a president that needs to be incentified because the road is difficult is the day we are mistaken as a country.

That is just how I look at it. He was dealt a difficult hand, but he made his choices as well. We elect presidents because they are supposed to be better than everyone else. That is why they get the power. Plain and simply, obama was not better. Leadership is being able to lead in the face of adversity. Anyone can lead a group of lemmings.

Without even having to think about it, Chris Christie is Jersey Mike's.

Or giving it some thought, Dunkin Donuts.

Rand Paul - Golden Corral. You serve yourself, there are some dedicated loyal customers but it is rarely full. And with the open seats you can isolate yourself into a corner if you choose.

That's pretty good.

Agreed. I'll add that you can get something different every time you go even though the menu never changes.

I think we exceptionalize the presidency and make them out to be gods among men when they are in fact just men and always will be. Using men as connotative for both genders, but as of now I guess it's actually factually accurate.

Except for Ronald Reagan.

Perhaps but there is a reason coach k has won 1000 games and [Redacted] can't beat Chief Kickingstallionsims. There is such thing as being exceptional and I expect the leader of the free world to be an exceptional leader. Whether he is a D or and R.

What does a leader do about people who are actively working to sabotage his efforts?
