Steve Forbes credibility watch

Would you rather be a doormat, getting blown out most games or have a decent team with a chance to make the tournament, but you perpetually lose every close game that matters?

Our alums do not support the team financially or with our presence. We have needed a proper home basketball venue for 50+ years. We need a real NIL pot for men's hoops.

Steve Forbes is a really good Coach. He's won everywhere. The people wanted him, the people got him. It's not the Coach.

We do need an 8k seat venue but what we really need is in person and NIL support from the alumni

I get what you're saying but comparing now to the 90's is very different. People can stream games and don't have to attend. In the past folks may have driven 3-4 hours for a game and now they can just watch at home. Or, they can stay home and watch the Duke/UNC/out of state team at home. And don't even get me started on ticket prices/concessions. But yes, if we started winning those issues would likely be solved.

I agree to a point, but most of our games have been viewable for a long time now. Maybe not the games against low level competition, but crowds were poor for anyway. Winning would make a big difference, same can be said for football, but there has been a large increase in crowds for football with Clawson's success. Hopefully this season doesn't set that back too much.

Not sure about football, even when we were ranked we had some poor attendance.

Look, I've been going to games for 40+ years, it is a lot better than it used to be. Yeah, we still have some poor attendance, but it's miles ahead of where we used to be. That Thursday night opener against Elon wouldn't have drawn flies years ago, it was a good crowd this year.
 
Prosser didnt win. Odom didn’t win without Tim Duncan. Both great coaches too.

Home venue sucked then too. Less than optimal. Students relegated to side. Thousands of empty seats. Didnt practice where we played.

Sure coaching is important. The venue is important. Paying players is important.

To win at Wake Forest we need them all. The alums are responsible for the last 2. We suck becaue we personally suck.

You must have missed the whole Prosser era because there were not thousands of empty seats.

And that will continue to be the case until he learns how to coach D. You can go on and on about talent/height/etc, but last night the Utes had at least 10+ dunks/open layups and could have been more whereas we had very few. Our complete lack of help D while having guys double the ball is just so poor and like we never practiced. And not just once but OVER and OVER! No matter how good your O is you have to have a decent D and one that can make key stops. Forbes D has never been able to do that on a consistent basis and very concerning.
