Steve Forbes credibility watch

He has been a coach for like 30 years. He has had plenty of time to figure out actual in-game coaching.

We're 6-6 over our last 12 games. We blew out Pitt and Cuse, and got conversely worked by UNC and Duke. A close UVA game is the same as any other loss given their slow-down style; a 2 point loss is the same as a 10 point loss against any other team. We blow out teams when we are hyped up at home, but we've lost every decent road game we've played. Those are signs of bad coaching. We're not "trending" anywhere but wildly oscillating back and forth to mediocre.
The computer models, which are completely objective, have trended us from ~#80 to ~#20 over the past 3 months, and if you look at the models since we got our full team back, we are in the top 10.

You do realize your are responding to an Elite middle school soccer coach, don’t you?!? Models, schmodels!

I’m sure some of y’all were just the life of the party when you were here. The only team that’s blown us out on the road is UNC
Exactly. That was the one bad (and extremely frustrating for those of us that live next to Walmart Stan Tarhole neighbors) loss out of the past month or so.

Still a good chance we go 4-1 these next five games and sneak into the NCAAT.

Sneak into the NCAAT? Wake should already be in!

Even though Lunardi still has Wake out of the NCAAT, every other Power 6 #3 conference team is noted to be safely in.

What's Lunardi smoking?!

We've been down this road before fairly recently. I'd rather be safe with 21+ wins on Selection Sunday, than sorry.

“worked by Duke?” WTF? You must not have watched that game.
We were down by 6 at halftime and trailed by double digits for most of the second half until the typical futile flurry at the end while Duke was just trying to run out the clock. The outcome was never in doubt in the second half barring an absolute miracle, which of course did not occur. So yes, we got worked.

That is just more evidence that the computer models are worthless shit. What top 10 team can't win at all on the road and goes 6-6 against mostly mediocre competition? Pick a random team 10-20 spots below us in said rankings and set up a hypothetical game in their building. Who would win?

LOL. We were down 2 at half time and not down double digits for a single second of the game. I thought you might not have watched it.
He's essentially a worthless troll. He'd pull against us in the tourney anyways.

Whoops, wrong box score, conflated with another of our 25 years of losses in Cameron. Sorry, they all run together. Point still stands. This was the game where we never led at all, not even for one second from box to wire, and we didn't even have the late flurry at the end. The game was never in doubt. At any time in the second half did we have a chance to win? Nope. We got worked.

Called it!

I’ve continuously said that we should move on from Forbes if no, NCAA tournament bid after this season or next. Since you obviously disagree (based on your dismissive response) what is your threshold? Three more seasons? Five more seasons? Seven more seasons without an NCAA bid? Or, award Forbes a lifetime contract now? Interesting how those most dismissive of the fans questioning “credibility“ never want to set any parameters.
Go away.

How dare you question the evaluation by a nearly above average middle school assistant free throw coach?!?

A team 10-20 spots below Wake in the metrics would be favored at home. Wake is a tossup at VT who is 30 spots below Wake.

Not only does 2&2 not know how metrics work (obviously) but he doesn't even watch the Wake games where he makes his decisions that he's Forbes out.

Appropriately rated terrible poster on the boards.

You’re probably right. The counterargument is Cam has Nick Nurse on his side, plus KD acknowledged Cam’s NBA potential, and KD has a better eye test than any of us. NBA is so difficult to get into.

I don’t think Cam is getting enough credit for injuring his wrist and channeling his endless energy to become one of the best defensive stoppers in the league.

I love that Forbes defended Cam and apologized to Cam and took the blame for not saving a timeout regarding the end of UVA. Good coaches always defend their players.

Agreed. Forbes is just really likeable. He's not perfect. But he manned up. Apologized. And moved on. Hard to find fault with that.

So you just try and change your narrative once you are called out as a dipshit that didn’t even watch and can’t find the right box score? This is top tier bullshit from you. Rather typical
