Steve Forbes

ETSU brings me fond memories of our 2003 season - 1st in the ACC, an actual NCAA Tournament win, excitement high.
 
If Forbes wants Chill on his staff, great! If he doesn't, great. His program - he should call the shots.

Agreed. I believe Currie, unlike the egomaniac Wellman, throws Forbes the keys and says "don't wreck it" and then stays totally hands-off unless needed. So, no more weird post-game sock interviews by the AD and reviewing questions before they're asked of the coach. God, I am so glad those days are behind us.

I was at that game. Didn't we win in OT? If not, I remember it came right down to the wire. So psyched going into the game, and then midway through the second half it became "this can't happen, right?"
 
Really like the hire. Going to be competitive pretty soon. Wondering how many if any players he will bring over and if lax transfer rules this year could help the situation.

If there is a season, I expect we will see an instant improvement on both sides of the court. Hopefully it won't take long to wash off 10 years of filth and we can finally move forward.

Are there any players he can bring with him? Meaning if he has the Tenn transfer can he change to Wake if he wanted to.

The right coach can turn a basketball program around in two years.
 
I hope he is on the phone, texting, etc,, with Chaundee and Jahcobi to convince them to stay.
 
I didn't keep up with this last night but am now encouraged that we got Forbes. I think he compares pretty favorably to other recent ACC hires, and I have hope for our flagship program for the 1st time in at least a decade.
