Terrorist group in Iraq seizes nuclear materials that could be used to make WMD's

Does anyone now what low grade means? Trying to google it but keep getting a bunch of scientific stuff that doesn't explain it in plain English.

The uranium required for a good nuclear reaction requires separation from the majority isotype that most uranium is made up of. The good stuff is relatively rare and is why you don't just have uranium and then have a nuclear weapon, the reason for all that enrichment and centrifuges. Low grade probably means not weapons grade, but that really doesn't matter if you strap enough explosive around it and just blow it up as a dirty bomb radiation will be everywhere you just wont get a true nuclear detonation.

I think Obama should hire Rummy, Cheney, Wolfowitz, and C. Rice to figure this thing out.

Hard to declare the Surge a success when it didn't allow us to exit without leaving further conflict. Throw enough money around and you can "solve" any problem for a short time.

The surge wasn't about avoiding further conflict. It was about beating back the enemy. It was a success by any measure. Even the people who didn't think it would work admitted that it was a success.

When the current shit happens more than 5 years into the Obama presidency, it gets a bit tiresome to always try to lay some smackdown or blame on his predecessor. Bush is not responsible for ISIS, nor is he responsible for choosing to fight them or ignore them. Obama chose to leave Iraq exposed and willingly did so, though he likes to blame the Iraqis and bring up some hogwash about being unable to reach a status of forces agreement, for which his negotiating skills apparently share no blame. He wanted all troops out of Iraq and he pulled them out, for better or for worse. This is the consequence.
