The 2019 College Football Thread ! LSU NATIONAL CHAMPIONS ! CLEMSON SUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!

And Clemson is praying for a chance to play their second ranked team that might be #17 in mid-November while Alabama has LSU, Auburn, and Georgia teed up. They haven't dominated the SEC when they don't play 8 games a year against the SEC and the rest ofthe ACC would get their ass smashed if they played in the SEC.

Clemson is good. I don't disupte that. But they do not play a difficult schedule and have to go out of conference to play more than one or two "good" teams.

But playing in the ACC doesn't make Clemson worse. They are what they are. And, over the last several years, when they have had the opportunity to play good or great teams, they have fared pretty damn well. So using their weak schedule to say they aren't good has not proven to be true.

The fact that the rest of the ACC might get beaten badly by most of the teams in the SEC has no bearing on how good Clemson is.

The two halfway competitive games Clemson has played this year have been against a middle of the road SEC team and a mediocre UNC-CH team.

Here are 6 of 8 Bama's SEC games:

S. Carolina - who Clemson plays and who is already 0-1 against the ACC
Ole Miss (3-6, have lost to Cal and Memphis)
Texas A&M - who Clemson beat
TN (4-5, lost to GA State and BYU)
Arkansas (2-7 and rated below every ACC team, is a pick at home versus WKU this week)
Mississippi State (4-5, coach may get fired)
On top of those weaklings, Bama played Duke, NM State, S. Miss and W. Carolina. Wow, daunting.

Then, yes Bama, as described above, essentially has a two game season that started on November 9 against LSU and Auburn. The SEC has a couple of strong teams, but what is missed is that over half the league is complete garbage. Bama didn't have to survive a brutal 8 game SEC schedule. They played a bunch of crappy teams for two months, and then have a two game schedule starting on November 9. Auburn played a tough schedule and deserves a second look for a playoff spot despite two Ls. Bama does not with any regular season loss (like Clemson doesn't if they lose a game); their SEC schedule has been a cake walk.

If over half the SEC is complete garbage then 75% of the ACC must be complete garbage.

Bama has a three-game schedule if they win the SEC West, which is three games more than Clemson has scheduled this season.

Remember when TheReff was the biggest SEC homer on this board?

Good post. SEC is overrated

Exactly.

And you can’t spell “The SEC is overrated” without the letters SEC either.

Which conference has five better teams the AL, LSU, UGA, Auburn, and FL? After those five, the SEC is pretty mediocre. Other conferences don’t even go five deep before you get to the layer of mediocrity.

The B1G is good this year. They have 3 undefeated teams, and add in Iowa (2 one score loses) and Wisconsin, who suffered a look ahead loss to Illinois, and a thumping by tOSU. Michigan (the Fighting Gattis's) may have turned thing around too.

Serious question, what are the biggest OOC wins for the B1G this year ? So I looked through the schedules:

Michigan beat Notre Dame (and Army)
Penn State beat Pitt
tOSU beat Cincinnati
Maryland destroyed Syracuse (then lost to Temple)
Minnesota came from behind to beat both South Dakota State and Ga Southern
Wisconsin beat USF
Iowa beat Iowa State
Purdue beat Vandy

They've played more FBS opponents ooc this year than anyone else which is helping their power ranking.

Obviously, Tennessee is dragging down the SEC in this regard.

Notable losses would be:
Northwestern to Nevada and Stanford
MSU to Arizona State
Nebraska to Colorado
Illinois to E Michigan
Rutgers to BC
Maryland to Temple

Prediction:

1. LSU
2. tOSU
3. Alabama
4. Clemson
5. PSU
6. Georgia

7-10. Oregon, Oklahoma, Florida, Utah

1. tOSU - beating mediocre and bad teams all season long.
2. LSU
3. Alabama
4. PSU
5. Clemson
6. Georgia

What a time to be alive. #19
Someone should screenshot the image of us being ranked #19 in the CFP while the scroll shows John Collins busted for PED's. Like I said the other day, just a bizarro world.

So Clemson will be fired up this weekend. Probably doesn't matter for NC State.
