The 2019 College Football Thread ! LSU NATIONAL CHAMPIONS ! CLEMSON SUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!

Yikes. State is really going to take a pounding this week.

Crap, Clemson at 5

That sucks more for us than it does for them.

That’s downright disrespectful to UNC. Clemson best the hell out of Bama in the CFP Championship, remained undefeated and they’re #5.

Clemson might be a bit pissed when we meet

Counterargument: they will have extra noise in their ears with Dabo doing all his Dabo things. We will keep our heads down and just play.

I know, they're still quite certainly going to win.

Fucking Joey Galloway pumping up Cincinnati for losing to tOSU 42-0 three days after they beat ECU by 3.

ideally clemson jumps to #3 next week with a penn st and bama/lsu loss

biff is on the same side of the argument as thereff

Ideally Clemson hops into the top 3 next week and we take care of business at Va Tech. Minnesota loses and we jump to #16 and face #3 Clemson. A top 16 matchup like that would give the Deacs a chance to move into the top 10 with a win.

Can’t imagine ranking someone other than OSU number one at this point of the season.

You can't imagine LSU with wins over Auburn and Florida (and Texas) being ranked #1 like they are in the AP poll, versus tOSU with wins over Wisconsin and Cincinnati ? I'm not saying either is right or wrong, just that it could be imagined.

OSU beat 7-2 Indiana too!*

*I agree with you and would have been fine with LSU ranked #1.

Speaking of Indiana, their current SOS is #43 with a 7-2 record and a blowout loss to tOSU. Wake is currently #80 with a 7-1 record. Leaving out the tOSU game, their schedule and results are pretty similar to Wake's, but their next two games against Penn State and Michigan are likely to bring them back to earth a bit.

That and the fact that we just lost our starting QB (Mike Penix) for the season. We have a good and experienced back up but the difference against really good defenses is meaningful.

I get that Minnesota is really happy with the progress they've made over the past couple of years with PJ Fleck and it's great that they're 8-0, but man they've had some close calls this year against a weak schedule (#77) and they might lose 3 out of the next 4. If things go well they're probably going to get killed in the B1GCG by tOSU.

Fleck gets a new seven-year, $33.25 million contract.

Coyle built in a key buyout provision. If Fleck leaves next year, he must repay the university $10 million, a number that drops to $4.5 million the following year, and $3 million in 2022.

Not sure what the buyout is for U of M.

Apparently, FSU was sniffing around and Fleck's agent used that interest to get a new deal. Minnesota played like crap early in the year and won close games against bad teams (beat S. Dakota State by 7, needed OT to beat Fresno, beat GA Southern by 3), but they found a way to win those games, and now they have improved and believe in themselves. That said, reality check is coming with Penn State on Saturday (and then games @ Iowa and against Wisconsin). Fleck seems like a douche, but he has led an impressive turnaround for the Gophers.
