I was raised by two teachers in NC and I specialize in secondary and higher education since we're throwing out credentials.
Shorty, I should apologize to you. That statement you quoted was very poorly worded by me. I didn't realize how much it was misinterpreted. My point was that forces way outside of the control of teachers lowered their pensions, but they're taking the heat for it. They didn’t cheat taxpayers or anything like that. These teachers signed up to receive base pay and set pensions. Now they're basically being rewarded for their service with tax increases while others aren't also picking up the slack.
