The OFFICIAL 2014 Mother's Basement MLB Season Thread - #dynasty vs. #destiny

Yup. Ray, Bob, and Brett/Aaron. Pretty easy.

The Diamondbacks have gritted their way to a -59 run differential, worst in baseball by 13 runs. Poor Twitter rockstar Brandon McCarthy set a career high with 12 strikeouts yesterday, and was rewarded with a loss. Good thing they don't have Justin Upton weighing them down anymore.

Or put another way, the Phils struck out 13 times yesterday and won. This has been a banner two weeks for the Amaro-Ryno regime. Lots of old dudes slugging their weight.

The Cubs were a Pedro Strop blown save away from sweeping the Dbags - thats a highlight of the season.

We have 3 starters that have started the season off extremely strong, need to figure out this whole offense thing - who would have thought career backups like Ryan Sweeney, Nate Schierholz and Justin Ruggiano would not have been able to replicate career performances?

When the coach holds players accountable and makes them work extra hard, everyone plays better, like the 37 year old with a hernia pitching eight shutout innings. Just like they drew it up in the off season.

This review stuff has made one Chutley habit more valuable. He likes to hold a tag on someone extra long just in case they come off the base for a split second. He caught two dudes in the past week by holding… holding… holding… and then signaling to the dugout to challenge when he glimpsed an inch of space. One of those was in the ninth inning of a one-run game with no outs. Take THAT Martin Prado.

Kris Bryant lost his 9 game hitting streak in AA yesterday, he is still hitting .300/.434/.575 with 5 HR, 17 runs scored and 5 SB in 23 games.

Really excited to see him in Wrigley next year.

Where do people park when they go to PNC Park and how much do you pay?

Same question for Cincinnati if anyone has been there?

We flew into Pittsburgh and stayed across the river. We didn't drive so no parking but noticed a lot directly across from the main entrance. You can't drive there tho. You've gotta get the experience of walking across the bridge with other fans on gameday.

I've always stayed on the stadium side and parked at the hotel. But I would second walking the Roberto Clemente bridge.

Harper out for 2+ months. #dcsportzzzzz

Same injury as Hamilton and Pedroia.

Apologies, APETIT.

But we're trying to ditch cable. Was looking at MLBTV and it said we'd be blacked out for braves games. Is there a way around this?

Starting catcher, starting 3rd baseman, starting LFer, starting CFer and a starting pitcher have all spent time on the DL and we are not even out of April. I know no one is going to cry a river but that is crazy.

Oh please.

Try starting C, 2B, 3B, 4 SP (6 if you count old man Saunders and Scheppers), 1 OF, 2 arms from your pen and 1 utility man
