Somebody explain to my why these decisions are only being made now by the Supreme Court. What took them so long considering they have had this majority for some time? I really need to go back and take an ELPS class
When it was 5-4, shaming John Roberts was a realistic strategy. Now, that option is gone.
Probably some truth to that. The other piece of the puzzle is that there are some realistic financial concerns about the impartiality of this court.

This will be the case that is the end of US democracy or the beginning of the second civil war. Ruling that state legislatures can basically make any election related law without state judicial oversight is practically going back to the post reconstruction 1880s.
With extreme gerrymandering and an unchecked ability to write any restrictive cheating law they can dream of, its game over for democracy.
Time for states to try banning Viagra, I guess. And...... I don't know, knee replacement surgery?
