The majority of Christians abhor the "religious right" and the example they set. Unfortunately, the religious right likes to talk the talk and does so in the various forms of media to draw attention to themselves. That is why they are who you and the world see.
Those Christians you don't see try not to pass judgement (that's for God to do), practice forgiveness (as Christ instructed), practice and enlarge their spiritual commitment (as Christ instructed), are in service to others (as Christ instructed) and act with humility (as God prefers). They do so without any desire to be noticed or rewarded. It's a way of life. That's why you don't know much about them.
If you're curious about this aspect of Christianity there is an instruction manual available at any church free for the asking. If you prefer, it can be purchased at any bookstore. It is always in stock. If cost is a factor, many Christians will buy it for you or give you their copy. They will consider it a privilege.
