The religious right's hypocrisy now on full display

Good grief, it’s a real book. Link

What a collection of lunatics.
Well, the inevitable has finally happened - the Religious Right is now just openly saying that he's the next Messiah. I eagerly await Southern Baptist churches placing his framed photo or portrait next to their ones of the original white Messiah, or maybe just replacing it.

this guy is a legitimate doctor? i can't imagine that is true with that point of view.

Looks like they're going to be doing some revolutionary war cosplaying later too. Honestly, seems like a pretty good time.

No surprise, but the Bremerton football coach who won his Supreme Court case hasn't returned to coaching or teaching at his high school, despite the court order for the school to rehire him. Instead, he's hit the right-wing lecture/grifting circuit, inaccurately calling himself the "Coach who got fired" for praying.

"So the school district has been flummoxed about what’s happened since. They complied by offering to reinstate him, they say, and now the football season is in full swing. But Kennedy is nowhere near the sidelines.

“He’s had the paperwork for his reinstatement since August 8th, and we haven’t gotten so much as a phone call,” says Karen Bevers, spokesperson for Bremerton schools.

Instead, as the Bremerton Knights were prepping for the season in August, Kennedy was up in Alaska, meeting with former Vice President Mike Pence and evangelist Franklin Graham. On the eve of the first game, which the Knights won, Kennedy was in Milwaukee being presented with an engraved .22-caliber rifle at an American Legion convention.

The weekend of the second game, which the Knights also won, Kennedy appeared with former President Donald Trump at the Trump National Golf Club in New Jersey. He saw Trump get a religious award from a group called the American Cornerstone Institute.

Coming up this month, Kennedy’s scheduled to give a talk as part of a lectureship series at a Christian university in Arkansas."

That’s not surreal. That’s completely expected.

He ain't shit until he gets his own show on Fox News.

Just more evidence that as the number of regular church-going Christians steadily declines in the US, most of those who remain so are becoming more and more desperate to keep their cultural and social dominance by making their views the law and taking permanent control of federal, state, and local governments. There's no doubt that the same percentage of Republicans would likely agree with a federal law that only "Bible-believing" (conservative) Christians should be allowed to vote and serve in public office. That's the direction they're moving in anyway.

Mr. Kennedy said he was delighted by the ruling.

“This is just so awesome,” he said in a statement. “All I’ve ever wanted was to be back on the field with my guys.”

lol
