Totally Unofficial 2017/18 Premier League Thread (NWT)

SAF had emergency brain surgery for a hemorrhage today. Successful, sounds like. Best of luck to him for a complete recovery!

Fuck Zidane. It’s a tradition in Spain to do the pasillo (guard of honor) for the champions in their next match. It happens to be El Clasico. Madrid is refusing to do it even though they have in the past and Barcelona has for them.

Didn't Barca actually set the precedent a couple years ago?

Iirc we didn’t do it after they won the club World Cup, which obviously isn’t La Liga or even a competition in Europe

I don’t particularly care about the tradition but odd that it came about now when relations seem pretty decent. Sounds more like a Mourinho move

There have only been a few times in recent years when there’s a Clasico after the league has been decided. Last time was I believe 2008 when Madrid won and Barcelona did it. Lot of outrage from fans that they would, but they did.

At the end of the day, Zidane is not exactly the bastion of sportsmanship

Liverpool limping home in the league. If you can’t beat one of West Brom, Stoke or Brighton in your final four matches then top four isn’t deserved.

Watched a lot of lower division English League Championship matches over the last few weeks. Pretty crazy stuff today in what was their final match day, Bolton scored two goals in the final 10 minutes to come from behind to win and avoid relegation. Wolves won the league and are coming back up, so is Cardiff City. Fulham blew their shot at automatic promotion to the Prem.... but still has a shot in the promotion playoffs along with Aston Villa, Derby County and Middlesborough. Digging even deeper into the EFL.... our not so old friends Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers both have clinched their spots for promotion from League One into the Championship for next season. Yep... they both got relegated multiple times since they've been in the PL.

We tried to help Fulham but they wouldn't accept the gift.

Cardiff 59.4% pass accuracy this year, DFL in the Champ. Lowest in the Prem is Burnley at a shade over 70. WELCOME BACK NEIL WARNOCK!

Hopefull no Middlesbro, don't need Pulisball as well. Up the Cottagers
