Totally Unofficial 2019/2020 Premier League Thread (NWT)

Welcome to the realities of coaching Everton Carlo. You can only paper over our shit squad for so long.

Fred kicked in the ankle. Falls.

Booked for simulation???

Steven Bergwijn now injured and will miss the Leipzig match. Can we just forfeit? There's no point in playing. We can blame coronavirus.

Club now says it's a significant sprain and he'll be out for an extended time

Talks starting that the rest of the season may be played behind closed doors due to coronavirus.

OMG. I might prefer that Liverpool win the league at Anfield but none of their mouth-breathing supporters are their in person to celebrate. That would be amazing and ease the sting of them ending their 30 year drought a little bit.

That said. Probably wisest, and safest, to just scrap the season now and start fresh in August after the virus is contained.

It's the responsible thing to do.

Everything is awesome! Since Son was injured, Spurs have scored open play 3 goals in 5 games (plus an OG and a penalty). The goals were from Aurier, Alderweireld, and Bergwijn (who is now out injured for the foreseeable future). Wheeeeeeee.

Arsenal v Man City postponed tomorrow. Arsenal players were in close contact with Olympiakos' owner after their Europa match 2 weeks ago. He has tested positive for the coronavirus

Crazy shit

Realistically it takes one player on any team testing positive to shut the whole season down. With the money involved I’m guessing every team has been instructed to designate any illness as a “stomach virus” or “muscle pull” to avoid that but yeah, if someone crosses the picket line publicly this season is over.

A cynic would say that whichever team is in 18th after this next round of fixtures has a £100+ reason to call it quits.

Wait... Olympiakos v Wolves is still going ahead tomorrow?

They are really serious about that 14 day quarantine, eh? Because I'm pretty sure the Olympiakos players probably had close contact with their owner as well at some point before he was diagnosed with coronavirus...
