Not quite. The vast majority of Muslims DO care and WOULD like to speak out about the extremists, it's just that moderate Muslims don't get ratings, and so they don't get play on cable news.
 
I was going more for the very small minority giving the vast majority a bad rep angle.

Apropos of nothing, but it's really crystalized for me in the past month the extent to which a large segment of the population actually thinks that private gun ownership is what's preventing the US from being a tyrannical dictatorship
 
Yet those same people support increasing defense spending.
