Wake Baseball 2018

WF plays at ND tonight at 6. Roberts faces ND 5th year senior Scott Tully. Tully is a soft tossing lefty (2-1 4.11 ERA). Last time out, Tully pitched 6.1 innings giving up 5 hits and 4 runs at FSU (no strikeouts). ND is 8-11 and 2-4 in the ACC. This is ND's home conference opener. As expected, the weather will be miserable tonight: 43 at game time; in the 30s for most of the game.

Baseball is a miserable game to play in that weather.

Have no idea why they are playing at night (twilight). It's not as if thousands (or even 10s) of more fans will attend because of the later start. At least it is/was sunny today in South Bend.

Watched quite a bit of the game. Wake seemed to have trouble with Tully for most of the game. Soft tossing is dead on. I like our young players but man the bats can be inconsistent at times.

4-3 after 6 and we got out of a based loaded jam again. Should have been out of inning with 0 given up --- RF dropped a foul ball for out 3 (hate those one hand catch attempts) unless required.

Irish announcers just pointed out our impressive and clutch RISP hitting today, sure is nice to see

Walter bunting there was a great call, it worked and should have led to more runs, he's been spot-on all year with great coaching decisions

clutch play at first there to prevent us falling behind, can't say enough about that play

2 errors isn't bad, but both were with 2 outs and have led to 4 unearned runs.

That and having a guy on 3rd with 0 and 1 outs and getting no runs.
