Wake Baseball 2018

I’m pretty sure today’s game was the first Wake win I’ve seen in person in Atlanta in any sport. Was a beautiful day for baseball.

Top 12 (top 12 ACC records; not the top 6 in each division) make the ACC Tourney; WF would lose the tiebreaker with ND; even so, as long as WF wins a couple more conference games; the Deacs should qualify. WF has two conference series left: @ State and UVA. UVA is in jeopardy of missing the ACC tourney for the first time since O'Connor was hired.

Is the format still that idiotic four three-team pool system where there is guaranteed to be a meaningless game in each pool?

Yep. To kill the possibility of the holes getting left out of the ACCT ever again.

Video tonight looks to be free. Anyone know if it's streamable on Apple TV? Not home yet to check.

Don’t bother. The Deacs are getting bombed. Same old story, lots of walks, HBPs. Schuster pitched well but Menendez is like throwing has on a fire.

0.0 Innings Pitched, and 6 Earned Runs for Menendez? Am I reading that right? Wow, that is hard to do.

I'm about 95% sure if you gave me a week of practice and long toss I could at least record one out before giving up six.

out of our three weekend starters, Peluse and McSweeney are both draft ineligible, correct? and Roberts is eligible?

trying to predict next year's weekend rotation

Walks and HBP are non-defensible in the field.
Are we trying to always 'paint' the corners or just can't throw in the strike zone. Ease up on the corners a bit and if someone hits a ball there is a chance it will be in someone's area for a possible play for out. Give your field support players a chance to help!

Would that be an ERA of infinity?

It would. Thought we might see that last night, as a rookie pitcher came in the Nationals game and gave up a run before recording an out. Looked like he might give up more runs, but managed to get an out before being pulled.

yeah — supple is eligible too (and witt).

would hope one of the highly recruited freshmen can step in. witt might be more realistic if he comes back. we’ve also seen sophs take big steps though, and at least guys like shuster and mcnamee have good peripherals.

WF beat Elon last night. Both Peluse and McSweeney pitched in relief because WF is off this weekend for exams.

So we are pretty much needing a 5 or 6 game winning streak to end the season before Selection Sunday to make the NCAA regionals

WF is out unless it wins the ACC Tournament.
