Wake Baseball 2020

Definitely need to win 2 of 3 this weekend to somewhat make up for that shit show out west and the App implosion.
 
Which way does the wind blow at the Couch? Because there may be 50 home runs tonight if it’s blowing toward center field.
 
So far we've recorded four outs given up three walks and committed an error. Unless you can just bash the ball over the place against top quality pitching you better play fundamentally sound baseball and we do not

No, they don’t. It’s the first ACC series of the year, not the last. Plenty of time to make up for the rough start in this loaded conference.
 
UL's pitcher is very good but 15 Ks in 6 innings?
 
Deacs are well on their way to striking out more than 20 times tonight. 15 times so far thru 6 innings.

Can't seem to coach hitting or approach at plate..
.KOs, swinging at balls and letting strikes go by. Only coach who could take 7 of 9 returning very good batters and be hitting worse than last year. That's Manning-ish.

We don't seem to put much pressure on the defense either. No real speed apparently.

sadly, starting to agree.

Pierce Bennett has the best AB of the game at the end when he pinch hit for Poteet ended up with a 7-8 pitch walk, and it came against one of the best closers in college baseball. Extremely impressive for a freshman. I think both Poteet and Ludowig should be getting less opportunities now. Cecere and Bennett should be starting to take some PT from both of them, because neither of them have shown they have the ability to hit consistently in crunch situations.

While there are multiple things from this game to critique, you indicated the main one: when Louisville got singles or runners on with walks, they were able to deliver a hit to bring in some runs. We had runners in scoring position multiple times and no rbi. Once in the 6th IIRC, we had runners on 1st and 2nd with 0 outs....never brought a run across the plate...
 
I think starting our #1 last night was a waste. Their pitcher is a stud. We should’ve punted the game and gone all out for the other 2.

Not sure there's a big difference between Cusick, Shuster and Fleming.
