Wake Forest 2023 baseball season thread (Deacs end historic season with extra inning loss to LSU: Final record 54-12 and top 4 finish nationally)

First pitch 7:05 P.M. EDT for many evening games in eastern time zone stadiums. About 1/3 of MLB stadia are in eastern time zone. So maybe 1/4 of MLB games start at 7:05 PM EDT.
Yep. But Omaha is not in EST so it’s dealing with more sun issues. 6:40 local time is also becoming a popular start time.

Rough projected shadows at 6, 7 and 8PM local time. Not sure how tall the stands are, and the shadows would be more uniform when the shape of the stadium is taken into account, but rough idea

Corona did the right thing on his double.

Wait for your pitch and drive it.

You don't have to take massive cuts against good pitchers in this ballpark.

Where did you even find that Windy? We really need this game to start lol
Well i found the MLB data on fangraphs, along with the history. They referenced FindMyShadow.com which allowed me to plot the sun position. Then i screen grabbed from Google Maps the Schwab field picture, overlayed that into FindmyShadow and "built" the obstructions (stadium) to cast the shadows.

I think this internet thing has a chance of catching on.

I'm just here to serve the people

Guys here's the thing about tonight. It's not time to mess around. This isn't a "I'll have the game on in the background while I play parcheesi with the kids for family board game night." This isn't a "let me try on that new baseball jersey my wife got me for my birthday two weeks ago since it seems like it'll be a good time for it." This isn't a "let's all hold hands and have a good time while pulling for a fun game." This isn't about fun. This is a business trip. You will do what you've been doing while we've been turning everybody else in the NCAA tournament into meatloaf. If your significant other hasn't been watching up to this point, we don't invite them along for the journey. The team needs your full attention and if you don't give it, we will all know. Again, this isn't about fun, this is business.

7pm needs to arrive soon, I am losing brain cells reading LSU's message board

Hoping for overcast (less shadows) and less wind.

Against Alabama, 21 of our 27 runs came on home runs. To be fair, all 9 of Alabama’s runs did as well.

If pitchers aren’t scared of HR, they aren’t afraid to throw strikes either. Hopefully conditions allow for their pitchers to be scared of us hitting HR.

I did a little social media work and that killed the first 54 minutes of the day. I've killed the last 8 minutes registering for the LSU message boards hoping to field any and all questions about NC BBQ and will spend the next 7 hours or so frantically reloading all message boards and twitter to continue overdosing on this content

OK, but hear me out. What if your heart physically can't take watching the game and need a distraction. Is it then acceptable to have it on and walk away to do another task so your heart doesn't explode? Asking for a friend.
