Wake Forest 2023 baseball season thread (Deacs end historic season with extra inning loss to LSU: Final record 54-12 and top 4 finish nationally)

I may have to watch it tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.

Question…. Do we have to beat whoever advances to play us two out of three, or just once?

Has the number one and number two seeds ever met in the finals?

Add LK to the list of those who will not thank those who have destroyed him in life yet made his life better.
What does that mean? I mean, did he destroy it or make it better? Seriously not understanding the point....

The last time #1 won, in 1999, that was Miami, and they beat #2 FSU to win the final.

The final was a single game that year.

Don't know whether #2 has beaten #1 since then.

(WF lost to Miami in the Coral Gables Super that year after winning the Regional)

Im guessing they have before the Super Regionals existed (or even further back when Omaha was invites). But would be a good question for the Super Regional era

Fwiw, nice press box chat (alongside @EssexThayer) with some LSU media that seems certain Skenes won't pitch tonight or against Wake Forest, if it comes down to it.

Nothing is 100% but people who cover them are convinced next time he pitches is either in the minors or in the championship series.
This seems way more likely than Skenes pitching tonight on 2 days rest

Well that would be very nice.

Makes sense. Frankly, I think that’s how we’ll handle Rhett too.
