Wake Forest Basketball Recruiting: Juke Harris Commits!!

Aren't there over 4000 players in D1? Doesn't seem like the best use of resources keeping tabs on every single one of them. Surely teams must draw a line in the sand somewhere?
Any smart program now has the equivalent of Director of Pro Scouting. Gotta have an entire team breaking down film on players from around the country...and making backdoor contact through recruiting agencies

This reads like someone has lived in Tampa a long time. Probs has a side hustle...

It would be a good business. Keep analytics and film. Maintain relationships with NIL entities, families, and advisors. Be a go-between for coaches and players.

Hofstra is far from under the radar for Power V teams. The CAA is a middle-tier conference.

With the always expanding staffs of college basketball programs, among their duties is to breakdown every roster of every D-1 program for the after the season transfer portal. Guarantee WF and the other Power V programs have a file on every D-1 player with eligibility remaining. Wouldn't be surprised if it has advanced to the point that there is an NIL dollar value assigned to every player with eligibility remaining so they have an easy value reference guide.

Also, Dubar started out at Iowa State before transferring to Hofstra; he was offered by Marquette, K State, Auburn and Iowa State out of HS; so, there are already lots of Power V connections to him.
So, can we get him?

It is a business. Thats how these guys know to enter the portal. They already know who’s interested. The recruiting services just expanded their scope

we haven't heard any news about hs kids since Juke have we just quitt\ recruiting

Wake missed on a few HS guys. They went elsewhere.

Expect any open roster spots to be filled with transfer portal guys.

We had one more guy committed than available spots for next year, at least in theory. It looks like we know 2 for sure leaving, and there will very likely be 2-3 more, so 3-4 portal spots.

I know we missed on Bosewell, Passmore, and that other guy. But that's all that was talked about last year. This year crickets with at least 3 or 4 ships opening up and then next year losing everybody that scares me.

not trying to be an alarmist - but is there even a single realistic target for 2025 right now?

Yeah, there are a few.

We just don't talk HS recruiting over here because none of us know anything.

We'll clearly have spots available with Carr, Reid, Cam, Marsh (at least) running out of eligibility after the '24-25 season.

6'10" PF 200lbs (get him to the buffet line, if they still have those)
It's over a year before he would arrive on campus and over 18 months before he would play a college game.

just worried that we don't make the tourney next year, move on from forbes, and the cupboard is completely bare with no HS recruits and every gone in the portal

Whenever there is a coaching change the cupboard will be bare regardless. That’s the way it works with unlimited free movement. Nothing about recruiting HS kids changes that.
