That is mostly a myth exacerbated by "by the book" coaching.Collins kept himself on the bench quite a bit with foul trouble.
I watched the games and thought he committed a lot of quick fouls. Manning could have decided to just let him play. But he was definitely a quick fouler.That is mostly a myth exacerbated by "by the book" coaching.
A little slow on the realization?wow, I'm beginning to think that Manning wasn't that great of a coach...
Guys, I think it’s time we finally admit that Manning was a bad coach. Maybe even terrible.it was pretty obvious manning's minutes for collins was stupid while it was happening

Thank you for this clarification.What's really bad is the realization that Manning identified and recruited our best player in the last decade and also took us to the tourney. Haven't seen those heights since. Sobering.
And this isn't an argument that Manning was a great head coach. But just a reminder, yeah, that was our peak.
He averaged 2.6 fouls in 14.4 minutes per game.ACC games where freshman Collins played less than 15 minutes and number of fouls:
@Louisville, 9 minutes, 2 fouls
NC State, 10 minutes, 2 fouls
@VT, 5 minutes, 0 fouls
Syracuse, 7 minutes, 0 fouls
@Miami, 15 minutes, 3 fouls
Clemson, 10 minutes, 4 fouls
Florida State, 13 minutes, 1 foul
@GT, 11 minutes, 0 fouls
@NC State, 11 minutes, 5 fouls (impressive!)
VT, 15 minutes, 4 fouls
@Duke, 13 minutes, 3 fouls
That would have changed if he played more his Freshman year and we were a better team?We should appreciate that he got Danny manning an extension?
Add Darius Songaila to your list alsoJC has to be one of the best per minute players that we've ever had?
Don’t discount ACC refs deciding he was quick fouler and not giving him any benefit of doubt since he was a freshmanCollins kept himself on the bench quite a bit with foul trouble.
