Wake Forest Football Recruiting

I saw that we are after Tre'mon Morris-Brash, #41 DE from Washington DC (St John's). He's more of a stand up rush end then a 5 technique. Has quality offers. Remember that the '19 class will replace this years juniors. You don't want to have to count on them to walk in and start. Groulx and Greene will be the exceptions.

Quality offers?

Morris-Brash down to Oklahoma,Jeff Mullen and Florida and Wake Forest?

He looks like a candidate for Boogie behind Boogie. Spitting image film at same stage

Pretty strong company there.
Fwiw, Wake is the closest to D.C. by far.

Yea,and looking at recent history you’d suspect some DC and Crabber State ballplayers to end up at Wake — thinking of ‘recents’ such as db C. Davis and linemen D.Gordon,Michael Jurgens,Loic Nya and vets Justin Herron and Scotty Washington.

There are 3 kids from Good Counsel who I think a good number of solid P5 programs (with shops avail)will be looking at as the Sr season progressed— an athletic but undersized DE (Jalen Green/Rivals#16MD) who at 6’2-230 will lift his hand off the ground and split time at OLB this year. He is currently a James Madison commit who plays a lot like Demopolis Ala. product Demetrius Kemp (glue players). Good Counsel also has 6’6-310 OT Mason Lunsford (Rivals#24MD) who is picking up steam.

Remember..Tabacca has an affinity for Crab State OL

Is it possible to make a late move on un-committed guys like (Rivals#5MD)OG Will Harrod (as a student-prospect resembles Herron) or maybe get in the act with OT Walter Rouse (Rivals#9MD)?

Apologies for typos etc., .. can’t get edit feature on posts more than a couple sentences long and this fuggin phone is as bad as I am. (Shops - progressed, etc.,)

A Rotten Apple :)

Nolan Groux spotted at South Carolina game today...hope he is just taking in a game and not wavering.

1. Don't see him being a double decommit kind of guy.
2. His buddy and future QB just lit it up for almost 400 yards - would think he is licking his chops for 3 years with Hartman.
3. Who the hell would want to play offense on a Will Muschamp coached team?

Maybe the kid just likes watching football?

Donavon Greene had 74 yard TD catch and 90 yard KO return TD. He rarely gets targeted for passes and hasn’t touched the ball on a reverse, etc. in the first 3 games but still has 7 TDS. Go figure.

Crazy that he and Groulx could redshirt next year.

Agree PH. Here is where the new redshirt rules will really help. Let them each play a few games early in the year, kickoff returns, back up WR and then let them top off to the NCAA limit (4 games) as the season winds down. If someone gets hurt and/or they emerge as being ready to be stars we can lift the shirt on one or both of them.

One of the many challenges for an improving program is impact of great recruits on hard earned developed talent already in place. This is where Clawson’s focus on intelligent discipline is so critical to success.

As an example, I don’t believe Clawson has “annointed” a QB in his own mind just yet this year. Maybe, but not necessarily. Newman has skills and has worked to develop them plus he has size. Hinton is on the shelf but could be available. If any break downs occur in next 10 days Clawson could go to his QB bank to the guys who have been developing over a longer period. The new 4 stars, if too impatient, can end up missing the Clawson boat all to together, and miss a great development track to the NFL.

I’m sure Clawson ideally just wants junior and senior starters. He just keeps outrecruiting the current talent.

If Greene and Groulx are better than Washington, Surratt, and Dortch, they will play.

If he recruits somebody that’s good enough to beat out Dortch than Clawson deserves a statue.

Yet the highest rated player Clawson has recruited will be competing at Dortch’s spot next year.

There are enough snaps in an uptempo offense for 2 really talented slot receivers.

If we have that much talent, then just create a new 'double slot' offense and use them both at the same time
