Wake Forest Football Recruiting

Interesting. Would make sense to do so if they had played today at UNC to give them some practice on a turf field, but NCSU has grass. So maybe just a chance to give the players a new experience and break in the normal practice routine.
Regardless, always good to have the top players/programs/coaches getting exposure to our facilities. I've watched some of all 3 state championships fro m UNC and NCSU this weekend(one more tonight featuring a Wake preferred walk-on at QB), and there's a lot of DI talent on these teams, including a 6-8 230 lb. freshman TE/WR from Greensboro. We need to get back into the rotation for hosting these championship games.

Does Wake have a shot or are they committed elsewhere?
 
Cooley (RB) in the portal this weekend. . . . really liked him. Hope he finds what he's looking for, best wishes. but he would've been a good one to hold onto.

I know with Claiborne, Carney and Pickett in line, it was probably gonna be a battle. still, he was the bowling ball change of pace back that helped us a lot this season.

3 stars and no P5 offers? All the other LBs ranked around him nationally had serious P5 offers and many of them committed to big schools. Interesting.
 
It's interesting the staff didn't wait on DJ Moore. Wake is in his top 3, with the other two being Cinncinatti (who just got a new coaching staff) and Tenn ( who have an all world 5 star qb commitment in the class of 2023).

They've taken 2 QBs in a class before. 2024 may be a good time to do it, leading into Griffis' redshirt junior year and 5th year in the program.
