Where does last night rank on the list of Bz failures/embarrassments?

Here is the correct order of our worst losses under Bzz, and I listed 15 because 10 really isn't enough.

1. 10-11 Stetson (79-89) home loss

2. 10-11 Presbyterian (64-66) home loss

3. 12-13 Iona (68-94) neutral loss

4. 11-12 Arizona State (56-84) neutral loss

5. 10-11 Winthrop (74-83) home loss

6. 11-12 Wofford (52-56) home loss

7. 10-11 Georgia Tech (39-74) road loss

8. 11-12 NC State (40-76) home loss

9. 10-11 UNC-W (69-81) home loss

10. 11-12 Clemson (58-78) home loss

11. 12-13 Nebraska (63-79) home loss

12. 10-11 Virginia Tech (65-94) road loss

13. 10-11 Georgia Tech (54-80) home loss

14. 11-12 Virginia (44-68) road loss

15. 12-13 Clemson (44-60) road loss

Best list of the bunch.

It was also 72-37 at one point, we went on a vigorous 32-31 run after falling slightly behind 41-5. Without that 41-5 run we were right there.

Before I saw this thread I could never remember whether Bz lost to Wofford or Winthrop, because I always confuse the two. Then I read this thread and see that we've actually lost to both. Sigh.

Here's the officially unofficial list

#10: NC State (2012, #35 : 40-76)

After a somewhat surprising 1-1 conference start in Jeff [Redacted]'s 2nd season, WF proved the signs of improvement shown against VT and Maryland to start the conference slate were merely mirages. The Wolfpack controlled the game in the Joel from the start, allowing only 6 first-half WF baskets in route to a 16 point halftime lead.

The real pain came after the break, though. An uninspired WF squad stumbled back onto their home floor to allow a 30-8 run to start the second half. While only a masochistic few in black and gold remained to notice, a 63-25 score projected onto the Joel's scoreboards versus an in-state rival depicts a previously unimaginable low for Wake Forest basketball, a low that has become far too common under Jeff [Redacted].

#9: Iona neutral (2013, # 99 : 68-94)

The low point of this game may not be the 41-5 deficit the Deacons faced in the first 13 minutes of the game, but rather in the post-game presser when a straight-faced Jeff [Redacted] commended his squads resilience in not slipping further in the final 27 minutes of the contest.

T-#7: @Virginia Tech, @Georgia Tech (2011, #34 & #89 : 65-94 & 39-74)

Any remaining hope to see a competitive team in the '10-'11 season was mercilessly crushed by these two consecutive losses (both to teams that, at the time, had losing conference records) by margins of 29 and 35 points, respectively. The Deacons were down by 20+ points in the first half of each game.

#6: Arizona State neutral (2012, #223 : 56-84)

After a brief glimmer of hope with a 3-1 start to the '11-'12 season (with the only loss coming in a closely contested game against #67 Dayton), optimism was crushed by an embarrassing loss to a woeful Herb Sendek squad. ASU was 1-3 coming into the game, fresh on the heels of a 11 point loss to Fairfield

T-#2: Wofford, Winthrop, Presbyterian, UNCW (2012, 2011, 2011, 2011, #194, #229, #263, #205 : 52-56, 74-83, 64-66, 61-81)

Perhaps nothing illustrates Jeff [Redacted]'s historic ineptitude at Wake Forest more clearly than this group of embarrassing home losses to low-level Carolina opponents. Wofford, the highest rated of the four, was ranked over 70 spots lower than the worst ACC-team in the past decade. These four defeats paint a grim reality that Ron Wellman willingly withdrew Wake Forest Basketball from being considered a member of the 'big four' with his indefensible and incomprehensible hire of Jeff [Redacted].

#1: Stetson (2011, #297 : 79-89)

Skip Prosser and Dino Gaudio lost a combined total of 2 games against sub-100 competition in the 8 seasons prior to Jeff [Redacted]'s arrival at Wake. The worst of those two defeats came against a team ranked #117 (W&M, '10). The double-digit home loss in [Redacted]'s WF coaching debut came at the hands of the 297th ranked team in the country. Unfortunately, the shocking loss proved to be a quintessential example of foreshadowing.

Thank you. Add that UNCG 2 point win, when they were winless, and this dude should be fired today, before midnight, by fucking phone.

There is absolutely, positively no reason why anybody in Wellman's position looking at Mydeaconmyhand's list should not call [Redacted] into his office and fire him on the spot this morning. This is a fucking joke.

It would take an entire career for a bad coach to create a resume of loses this terrible. Bzz managed it in 2 1/2 seasons.

Back to the top....unfortunately...

Have No Fear, [Redacted] Basketball Is Back!

From a context perspective, this has to be right up there with Stetson.
