Is it owling?
Not mine, but someone else in Arizona:
Been bitten on the left hand by a small copperhead, bitten on the right hand by a black widow, bitten on the heel by a black snake, stung on the leg by a Portuguese man o war.
I've been struck by a rattlesnake (shot him).
How about a little more detail? What the heck happens next after you're bitten by a rattlesnake? Copperhead? Black widow? Man-o-war? Hospital visit?
Used to take my Boxer out back of my house to a wide open field (basically about 300 yards) that backed up to woods.. very well lit field too.. Their were foxes that lived in those woods. One night, about 1am, I let my boxer off her leash as I always did to run around.... When she crossed paths with the Foxes heading back to their woods. They simply crossed paths and were at a stand still. My boxer is TOUGH, and fears nothing...the foxes were probably about 10 lbs lighter, but there were 3 of them.... they stood about 10 feet away from each other, everyone slowly backed away... It looked like it was going to be a massive throw down, at which point I would have no idea what to do....
the story obviously ended there mr. nosey
I just like when you throw out something like, "I've been bit by a copperhead, black widow spider, and stung by a Portuguese man-o-war" and then just leave it at that, as if we wouldn't be interested in the aftermath. DETAILS, PEOPLE.
Coincidentally, there are a couple of foxes that have recently appeared in our neighborhood. I see them from time to time walking my dogs. Usually I see them from afar and they seem pretty shy. Tonight, this one was a bit closer and as it was in the process of crossing the road, it stopped and stared at us as we walked down the road toward it. We stopped too. Then the fox started walking toward us. I got nervous, reversed course, and started walking the other way, and the fox started trotting after us. At this point I'm waiting for this fox to go nuts and attack, but fortunately after following us for a bit it veered off into the woods.
Remembered a more recent one. A squirrel got into my house last winter and got stuck in the basement. I put on gloves and chased him around for a while but he was too quick for me, so I had to call a service. When the guy came over we went down to the basement to look for the squirrel. We are wandering all over the basement, shining flashlights, and talking in regular voices, when all of a sudden I spot the squirrel - taking a nice nap on an old towel on a shelf. He didn't wake up even though I was 3 feet from him shining a flashlight and talking.
The pest control guy went out to the truck and got a trap, and we just scooped him in there. Of course he woke up and got pissed then but it was too late. I even got my old towel back. The pest control guy refused to charge me full price because he said it was the easiest squirrel job he'd ever had.
Should have gone with Jonah and the whale, but nobody's perfect right?
