First cassette I remember picking out for myself was Men At Work - Business as Usual. When our family first got a CD player in '86, we each got to pick out a CD, and I got a greatest hits compilation of The Monkees.

After Dookie, which I wore out the cassette for, I got CDs of:

What's the Story Morning Glory
Urban Hymns
Whatever and Ever Amen
Pop

I didn't ask for any of them. First album I asked for was Jars of Clay. The first one I really liked was Tonic - Lemon Parade.

I still think Lemon Parade is a good album.
