WFU Hoops: '23-'24 Roster Construction Thread: +Miller, Sallis, Reid, & Canka

Min Projection

PG: Boopie 30 Ituaka 10

SG: Cam 30 Ituka 10

SF: Transfer wing 25 Damari 15

PF: Bobi 30 Damari 10

C: Transfer big 25 Marsh 15

Dont see where Carr fits in if we get 2 transfers that are good enough to be starters

lol, no your PF position is totally wrong. Damari at the 4? Bobi will be starting 3.

Perfect world Cam grows 2-3 inches to get into a true 2/3 combo. Add in even slightly better 3 pt with his inside moves and he's set.

That is a big IF. So is Damari being able to play that many minutes effectively at the beginning of the season.

And Carr isn't being benched. He's the starting PF.

Cam's size is fine, even good for a combo guard. He just needs to be a more confident 3-point shooter.

I like that a guy with 10 previous posts had the balls to do this.

Good for you.

We need Creamy to give us a minutes projection to override that abomination
I live for this

PG: Boopie 30 Ituka 7 Cam 3
SG: Cam 25 Transfer G/F 15
SF: Damari 27 Transfer G/F 13
PF: Bobi 27 Transfer Big 8 Carr 5
C: Carr 20 Transfer Big 10 Marsh 10

Total:
Boopie - 30
Transfer G/F - 28
Bobi - 27
Damari - 27
Cam -28
Carr - 25
Transfer Big - 18
Marsh - 10
Ituka - 7

That gives us an 9 man rotation, which keeps it consistent with that Forbes seems to like. That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see Parker F get some spot minutes if he's the knockdown shooter we think he is. Keller could also work his way into the rotation depending on the development of Marsh, and the type of transfer big we bring in. But there are only so many minutes to go around. Clark is also a steal, IMO, and will be a good player for us by his second year, but I don't see enough minutes for him to crack the rotation this year. I'm also skeptical of giving MMM any minutes this year...He isn't going to take them away from Bobi, Carr, or transfer big.

The elephant in the post is I don't think Ituka will play many minutes. I just can't wrap my mind around him not being healthy enough to at least give us 5 spot minutes a game last year. I hope I'm wrong and I hope he's a stud, but something doesn't make sense regarding his situation.

That's my first pass at this.

I could also look like a total fool when Marsh plays 25 minutes and looks like an All ACC big. Again, I hope that's the case, but we haven't seen enough yet to think he's going to be a 25mpg guy on a tourney team.

My hot take is I think Bobi will spend more time at the 2/3 than he will at the 4
I could see Bobi on the wing but I don't see him taking any minutes from Cam, Bookie or transfer Guard/Wing at the 2. I could see him playing some minutes at the 3. If Bobi gains some strength he will be an elite power forward, IMO.

If it isn't obvious in my post, I think Forbes brings in another guy who can eat up minutes at the 2 or 3, as well as a guy who can eat up minutes at the 4/5. If that's the case, there won't be any minutes at the 2 for Bobi.

Obviously we have a bit of a logjam because our most proven players are at the 2-4 (Cam, Carr, Damari, Bobi). Will be interesting to feel how Forbes maximizes those guys assuming Damari is healthy. Monsanto could easily be at the SG position but Cam can’t really play the point for extended stretches.
