Pro Life / Pro Choice Debate

The last time Democrats held on to the white house for more than 8 consecutive years was WW2. They should get 4 more years of Biden, but the odds are that after that we will see a Republican president.

3 of the 4 justices under age 60 are Republican appointees,

The average age a justice leaves the court is 81, so it's likely we won't see any voluntary vacancies out of the younger justices.

That means it would be reasonable for 2/3 of Thomas/Alito/Roberts to make it through 2 more presidential terms. They can wait out 4 more years of Biden and even another 4 year Democrat term (which would break a long time trend) before retiring.

So yes, I believe it is very likely they maintain at worst a 5-4 majority for multiple decades.

Our best hope, and you are obviously more optimistic than I am, is a historical of Democrat presidents that outlasts all three of the aforementioned justices assuming no other early vacancies.

All that said, we were this close to getting that very scenario had Hillary won in 2016. 🤷‍♂️. A few thousand votes in a swing state, and Mitch determined a third of the court for a 20-30 year run.

Republicans rig the game better than democrats.

You need all 3 of them to retire during a Democrat presidency and not when Pubs have a majority in the senate. Thomas and Alito will retire the moment a Republican is in the white house.

Possible? Yes.

Likely? Not even close.

It could be decades before the court flips left again, hence my generational comment.
It wouldn’t shock me if Thomas stayed until his dying day, or close to it.

None of them will retire until there is a Republican president.

History of Judeo-Christian views on abortion (1 hr). Very informative for Christians, and should help them understand what the Bible says (more than Ps 139:13 and Jeremiah 1:5)

May be an image of text that says 'Alabama Fried Chicken'

We can make fun of Tuberville but I think he reflects where the party is on this issue. It's a very fundamental way of looking at "life" that makes it harder for families to have children.

I guess so but in this clip he clearly thinks ivf is birth control.

Doesn’t stop him from giving away the game anyway.

I don't think he thinks it's birth control. I think he has a basic understanding that IVF helps women have babies. But he (and they) can't square how restricting medical processes makes it more difficult and less likely to get more babies.

"I understand the concern around IVF services being paused at some Alabama clinics. While it's an unfortunate byproduct of this decision our goal has always been to protect the lives of the unborn, which this decision does."

Took me less than a minute to write this. How nobody in his office had some line ready to go for him isn't surprising since he's a moron and I'm sure is surrounded by people equally as dumb.

If he wanted to go full send he could have leaned into, "You may remember that Sarah was barren but the Lord blessed her and Abraham with Isaac because through Him all things are possible".

Do you know how hard it must be to convince an arrogant stupid person to recite a previously written statement?

Btw, the bible says Sarah was 90 years old when she birthed Isaac. Umm, ok.
