Saw a tweet that mentioned a possible cocaine overdose. Godeacsbravesetc was right!!
 
There's not that many things that can cause catastrophic organ failure at age 29 other than drugs, though there are a lot of Tweets saying it wasn't an overdose so who knows.

Just really sad right now - don't know why but Tommy was always one of my favorites for some reason. And it's always jarring to be reminded of your own mortality

Relax, bro. That was a reference to godeacsbravesetc's controversial allegation a few years back that Hanson was a well-known cokehead in ATL.

Easy dude, like has been said, this was in reference to an allegation made awhile ago. Also nothing said on a Wake Forest message board has any impact on Hanson, his family, the Braves, etc.
 
a cocaine overdose can certainly cause an "organ failure" - do not want to speculate as to the cause as it will come out eventually, but regardless this news is horrible...

it is a tragic loss for his family and friends. all the accounts you are seeing in social media indicate that he was well liked and respected by his peers and teammates and even the media.
