WF Tennis (WS Open Starts Saturday)

Men with an impressive 7-0 win against #24 FSU. Noah Rubin was back in action and played really well. Bogaerts was solid, as always.

Women with a nice win at Louisville 6-1.

That is sweet!

Stiefelmeyer with the number 1 rating barely with a winning record last year but a good record this year. Great to see Rubin winning so easily because he struggled with much lower rated players earlier this year. Great to see the guys playing so well right now.

Great weekend for the team. 2 dominating wins over top 30 teams. With Rubin, we are definitely are a top 10 team. Our only losses so far, and their current ranking:

#6 Duke: 1-4, led in the other 2 matches that didn't finish
#1 Oklahoma: 2-5, lost 2 of the 3rd set tiebreakers
#8 Texas: 3-4, without Rubin
#7 UVA: 2-5, without Rubin

It is a young team too. If Rubin doesn't go pro, we don't lose anyone next year. Looking forward to seeing where this team can go.

A dominant weekend for the Deacs winning both matches 7-0. The Deacs have a top 10 team and will be very tough come tourney time.

The women also won both matches this weekend against Louisville and Pittsburgh.

Bresky another home run hire by ronald

Bresky probably had to come to Wellman and ask for an interview, you're giving him way too much credit. Do you think he knows squat about tennis?

My sources say that he opposed the building of the facility anyway and that Flow overrode him

Regardless, Bresky will be winning national championships with the new AD :)

Noah Rubin named ACC player of the week. He's the third Wake men's player to have that honor this season.

Kimmy Guerin named women's ACC player of the week. The first Wake woman since 2012 to have that honor.

WF Tennis 2015 (#12 Wake hosts #16 VT Friday at 4 PM)

Another big weekend for the #12 Wake men's team. They host #16 VT on Friday at 4 PM. VT has had a great season so far, with only one loss and a convincing win over #6 Duke. After the Friday match the Deacs travel to Durham for a rematch with #6 Duke. Wake lost to Duke earlier in the year 4-2.

The #61 Wake women have a home double header on Sunday. It starts against #1 UNC at noon and is followed by App State at 4:30 PM. Typically a ranking 45 or better will get a team into the NCAA tournament, so Wake will need some big wins to move up to that level over the next few weeks.

The Wake/VT match is actually tomorrow (Friday) at 4:00 PM. Go Deacs!

Absolutely. Sorry about the mistake. If the weather holds up you can walk from tennis over to the Wake-Miami baseball game.
