Wake-Virginia Tech Game Thread

Are you thinking about the game in B-burg 3 years ago when Chas picked up a questionable T late in the second half? I was there for that one. I'm start to believe I may be a jinx. I've seen 3 Wake-VT games at Tech in the last 7 seasons. Wake has lost them all.

Fuck that game, fuck Seth Greenberg, and fuck those damn officials that listened to him.

With all deference to DC and others who defend it, I have never felt as much embarrassment at a WF representative- an adult, rep in a leadership position- as I did watching him stare at the floor, mute and dour, barely touching hands of the VT players. We've had players do dumb shit during and after games, but this is a grown man acting like a 6 yr old at a youth soccer game. Every program has losing periods and issues with non-winning coaches but I was embarrassed and disgusted with his demeanor at that point. That's the image people see as representing WF basketball. I recognize that the important thing is wins and losses but this isn't something so insignificant as to be swept under the rug. The man is a public face for Wake Forest- right now, he's the primary one. For all the issues with football, can anyone see Jim Grobe acting that way? The man who sends his players over to stand behind academy teams while they do their alma mater to their fans? No, [Redacted] was utterly out of line with his behavior. And it does matter. It's shameful, unacceptible, and he should apologize to VT players and to Wake alumni and fans.

What if he were to start by just apologizing to your vagina?

That was a serious Judge Smails level rant.

Your mom would have to pull her cock out first. Just feel like dicking out this morning or is there another reason you want to take this so personally?

Lol, man I'm just kidding. It was just a pretty indignant post for a coach who I think even you have been extremely critical of for not being emotional enough, then he's pissed because a couple of bad calls and an unlucky bounce cost us a game - he shakes hands without talking to the opponents and patting them on the asses and telling them how great they are - and suddenly he's a classless scourge on Wake Forest's good name...

I just thought it was funny. Didn't mean to get you all riled up.

My Mom giving it to you with a strap-on or whatever is a really horrible 9am image though.

You might as well get used to it. This is the new "culture" that Ron Wellman is so proud of. But unlike some, I do think that this is the kind of thing that might get Hatch's attention. You never can tell what will be the straw that breaks the camel's back. If someone can get a clip of that behavior posted to YouTube, I for one will email it to Hatch. It can't hurt for him to see for himself how poorly Buzz represents MSD and what a joke this new "culture" really is.

It would also be a nice clip to link to the new website...

Not sure who you're thinking of b/c I don't recall anything from me ever referencing [Redacted]'s emotional level. Bad calls and bad luck aren't anything new, especially to WF fans. But Dave Odom and Skip Prosser never acted that way. Marginalize, minimize, and otherwise try to shift the focus all you want. The fact is right now, college basketball is the only national face that schools have in the media. And our face, the other night, was immature, disrespectful, unprofessional, and insulting. Big deal? From your "just kidding" point of view, I guess now. Only a fool would look across our fanbase and the analysts in the media and think there isn't something wrong. And sorry but when a rep of our school acts that way, it isn't unimportant. And no one is asking him to fellate the opposing team. But you act like a fucking man, win or lose, and shake hands and look the kids in the eye. If you were in a business setting and someone greeted you that way, your opinion would be more than "just kidding." At least it should be.

Someone's gotta get a video clip of the-not-quite-handshake. I watched the entire game on the ACCN but turned it off as soon as Cav missed that putback and thus never saw this Bz-tastic "performance" in the handshake line that everyone keeps talking about.

But it's really not. I loathe Buzz as much as anyone, but the last thing I want to do is discourage a group of kids who are working their asses off. They deserve to win.

It could be argued that the kids would be more encouraged once they had a real coach leading them starting next season.

We lost the freaking game because we missed shots, not because of missed calls by the ref. We shot 35%. Everyone needs to stop making excuses and apologizing for this team and coach, they lost and they deserved to lose. :rulz:

Agreed, would love to see what everybody's talking about since I didn't watch the game.

[Redacted]'s whack ass substitution problems were the reason why VT got back into the game. That loss is on him.

...all 50 some odd losses to date are on Bzzz. Really incredible that the man continues to be allowed to coach our team.

Is there more to this clip? There has got to be more, right? Did he punch someone at the end of the line?

Seriously? Our coach can't even look the opposing team in the eye. A punch would have been an improvement because he would have at least had to acknowledge their presence like a man before throwing it.

And before someone goes into "you wanted him to show passion!" - acting like a seven year old =/= passionate coaching.
