That would be Norwood "Lookout" Teague, and the job is Minnesota.

Someone way earlier quoted a 2-3 month timeline for hiring a new AD. I for one, while happy to make two changes, would worry a lot about losing access to the best coaching candidates during that span. While I know it has to be done, it would be a very unfortunate, and hopefully not crippling, byproduct.

It would only be public if Ron refused to say he had any part of it. He could always pretend he had made the decision himself publicly / was aware of it. The thought of the Board telling Ron that he had to accept this and to toe the company line is pretty hilarious. But as you said, he is a proud man so even that would probably upset him.

RWs decisions regarding Buzz are what has actually shot his credibility to hell. I fully expect RW to make the termination announcement. He will thank [Redacted] and praise him by giving him credit for... whatever. Then he will give an appropriately worded statement regarding the decision to terminate. If asked, he will state that it was his decision, made in consultation with his superiors just as has been done with other such coaching changes.

In other words, I think RW will be allowed to save face. Just like there were and are unconfirmed rumors as to the real reasons for Dino's firing; there will be unconfirmed rumors that the BOT forced RW to terminate his friend. Anyway, that's how I would expect it to go down...

Others can feel free to chime in, but the same person that mentioned the possibility of a BOT decision on Bzz also felt that Wellman would be around 1 more year, then retire, FWIW

I can easily see this since he is set to head up the selection committee next year. It means a STUD coach needs to be hired though so we do not run into an interim situation or new coaching search when a new AD is hired.
 
If this is true, I expect we will win the ACC Tournament. That's just the way things go for Wake fans. That said, I can't stop smiling right now.

Doesn't have to be public. The Board can let Ron know in no uncertain terms what is going to happen, and then Ron fires Bz and tells everyone he made the decision to maintain the illusion. The rumors will be out there, but nobody will ever really know for sure (same as the Dino situation).
 
Any local news stations picking up the story by any chance? 5:00 or 6:00 news perhaps?

Things will work themselves out. Losing to MD tonight or losing to Duke tomorrow, doesnt really matter. I'm guessing things are largely decided already.
