BZZ Out Rumor

That's a pretty rational post, blue. My only point about it would be that I'd hope the conversations about Bz's future with Hatch/BOT (#6&8) aren't just starting now, and that Wellman should have the ability to shuttle back to Winston between NCAA duties. So I think those two factors may combine to bump up the timeline a tad.
 
All this talk about perception = bullshit

Are we really going to scare off potential suitors by firing Bzzz today as opposed to two weeks from now? The guy has a 3 year track record of failure at Wake. Three of the most miserable seasons in Wake's history. Nobody is going to look at his record and say, "Damn, I think they made a hasty decision!"

Now I do think that Wellman's place in this is something to consider, but if he isn't going to play ball then fuck him. We can't afford another year of Buzz.

what do you expect them to say today? everyone is getting all worked up for no reason.

Ron Wellman is in Indy, nothing, absolutely nothing is going to happen before Monday at the very earliest. The tweets from David Glenn and comments by Stan Cotten are just conjecture at this point. Do you think any of the David Glenn's sources OR Stan (even if they believe it) are going to come out and say "yes i think he will be fired" - a statement like that would almost certainly be career suicide in terms of continued employment with WFU not to mention a possible Human Resources violation.

I believe Wellman is only the chair next year. Terms on the committee are only five years so he should be done after 2013-14

Not to mention the sources are almost certainly within the AD, while the decision is allegedly being made outside of the AD.

Another possibility... his "sources" are within the Ath Dept (most likely). The Ath Dept might not have the final say on this matter.
 
The idea that Glenn's sources are saying this does not square with general consensus of this board.

Baby (where is he???) and others have said that this is a one man decision. That man is in Indy and is not taking time out of his day to talk to David Fucking Glenn.

It's even more important to remember that maybe...just maybe....there are people within the athletic dept that want bzzz gone....we are not the only ones who want him gone.

Just amazing that the athletic department is the most clueless on an issue that is primarily athletic. Fire Wellman now and get a good AD. If we don't find one quick enough to make a new BB hire, let the new guy fire Bz and have Battle coach next season.

Of course he is. He would have to admit the greatest mistake of his professional career otherwise. He's going to hold WFU hoops hostage over his desire to see himself proven right.
 
That means the BOT would have to fire Wellman to get to [Redacted]. Hard to see them firing the AD and coach of the flagship program at the same time. They would probably have to hire a basketball coach first, then Wellman's replacement, since there's a small window for hiring basketball coaches and AD is ultimately a job with more responsibility. That wouldn't be fair to either successor. The new AD should be able to pick his own guy and the new basketball coach should know who he's working for.

I'm just having a hard time believing that could actually happen. Basically we have to hope that either Wellman changes his mind and admits his mistake or [Redacted] does the right thing and resigns.
 
Hiring Bz. Firing Dino was the correct decision.
 
Does Ron feel like he got a pass in having to fire Dino because of the circumstances surrounding his promotion?

If Bzz is not canned, fully expect him to resign- his family life has to be terrible and we all know that when the wife is not happy, nobody's happy!
 
He makes too much money to have an unhappy wife.
