Picked up my $400 million Power Ball ticket today. What should I do with the money?

I definitely would and my husband very likely would. We're at a point where we love our jobs, no kids, and come from families with either middle class or lower class backgrounds. We've always said we want to make something big of ourselves. If anything, I could see my husband starting his own business but would still work.

That's cool, to each their own. I'd probably work for a little while until we figured some of the initial stuff out, but my plan would definitely involve transitioning OUT of work as quickly as possible. That's an insane amount of money to suddenly come into and the types of experiences that are made available by that are too good to pass up by continuing to work.

I'd pay off debts, buy a couple of houses, and then a new truck.

A few other toys and then form a fund to invest the rest. Then I'd live off of carried interest and capital gains. Probably have the fund do most of the serious buying and write it off as a business expense.

initially i'd keep working. probably better to sit on the money and get all the legal and financial stuff set up before i start spending all :willynilly: and then end up on the next E! True Hollywood Story on those that won the lottery and lost it all

eventually i'm sure it would be difficult to keep a straight face when a supervisor asks for something stupid, knowing you have all that money

No way I am working for the first week. Gotta go off the grid, set up accounting, legal, insurance, etc. Then I would give a little notice and be gone.

I had a conversation with a guy about what you do immediately. Like with the ticket. You dont want to run down there and turn it in, bc you need to get shit in order first, but you dont exactly want to walk around with $200M in you back pocket either. Buy a safe? Under the mattress? Make copies?? Safe deposit box?

yah i'd have to holla at caturday to get his ip blocking skillz so you boards nerds can't track me down.

i'd probably only keep in touch with my family and 10-15 friends. otherwise i'd vanish.

Fuck all that. I'm celebrating.

I think you have to go to the Capitol city of the state to turn it in, iirc

Quit my job
Buy a beach house
Buy a Corvette
Go to every US soccer match for the rest of my life

I'd donate enough to become a member at Augusta. Then all my friends can come play.

the more i think about it, the less i'm even able to fathom winning that much money- like the initial gut reaction of finding out you've won that many dollars. as excited as i get about finding $20 in my pocket (hell, who am i kidding - $1 in my pocket) i don't even know how I'd respond.

Why would you buy that? You realize that for $45 million you could stay in a great hotel in NYC and have your cock sucked by two hookers nonstop for over six years. And you wouldn't have to pay property taxes.

i wouldn't spend that much. probably 5 mill in paris, 10 in new york and 3 in venice
