Good bourbon

Drinking some Laphroiag 10 while watching the AL East CHAMPION Boston Red Sox.

Well done. I'm not a big Laph fan but I have some 15 year sitting on my bar. It's still way too warm to pour the Laph for me. It needs to be about 10 degrees with snow on the ground and then....maybe!

What can I say? I can't resist peat monsters.

Picked up some Wild Turkey Rare Breed tonight to cut my bourbon teeth on. Good or bad choice?

Just bought some tonight for the first time as well. I'm liking it. Been meaning to try it for a while, and I knew I didn't want most of the other stuff in the shop I was in.

Love the stuff especially for its price point, but damn you picked a hot one for a starter

I poured two fingers and cut it with some water and added about four ice cubes. It wasn't bad, but I have no basis for comparison. It did make me sweat a little.

Solid and ambitious choice for a first Bourbon IMO. At that price point, give Four Roses Single Barrel a try for your next bottle. Better yet, pick up a bottle now so you can drink them back to back and decided for yourself. It's my favorite, that's easily available, in the $35-40 range.

Don't cut with water if you are icing. Try a smaller pour with just a little water, or a bigger pour with just a single ice cube
