More DS Premium Drama! Deman = NCSCout?

Insiders, is anyone making a big deal out of this? Asking for more of an explanation? Or like a cult, are they all just submissive to power and accepting what they're told?

Likely scenario:

NCScout asked Deman to post some information for him. Deman forgot to log out before he did and posted under his own name.

Deman freaked out because he didn't want to seem too close to NCScout after his board alteration experiment performed significantly under the justification of comments made by NCScout.

Deman concocted lame IP glitch excuse.

Well let's not keep giving them ideas to use as their excuse...
 
I kept getting crossways with Deman on recruiting info. because it seemed to me to be about protecting the interests of Wellman/Bz plus boosting morale to the point people are encouraged to compare Rountree to some of the all time greats. Why not just give the info. straight on premium without all the BS?
 
Because Deman believes part of his job is to boost morale. And due to the nature of many in our internet fanbase, he doesn't risk a threat to his credibility by overhyping recruits. We have so many fans who will believe whatever they need to believe to make themselves feel better about Wake sports. So if they need to believe Rountree is the next Walt Williams. They will. And if he gets here and doesn't contribute as a freshman, they'll move on and say "Well he's only a freshman. He just needs to get stronger." And if he continues to struggle, they'll just blame talent in order to preserve their faith in the coach.

It's a pitiful cycle.
 
That's the exact cycle. The most recent comparison was a taller Evan Turner. Yup.

I'm excited about Rountree, but COME ON! Evan Turner was a National Player of the Year type talent! Just absurd.

In all fairness, that was me, and the quote was blown out of proportion. Scout mentioned a wing being used to run the offense, and he was the last guy I could think of that did that. I was not saying he was, is, or would ever be as good as Turner.

Although given that nobody seems to have flipped about the Walt Williams comparison, I'm not sure why mentioning Evan Turner causes people to lose it.

BTW, I don't see any big thing about the deman/Scout post. But those who want to freak out about it, go ahead.

one person said that and got jumped on by several for making that comparison.

Honestly, I love this new site, but the sooner everyone over here moves on and stops being concerned with the scout site, the sooner this becomes its own viable entity and not some splinter faction of scout.

Y'all have done a great job setting up a board and thanks for that, but honestly, sometimes reading things over here is like hanging out with middle school girls who hear something and run back to the their other clique to spread what they heard to disparage another group.

Ahhh, that's better then.

I thought it was Deman or Scout that made that comparison as an effort to boost morale.

So, I'll just put my "Oh, for fuck's sake..." to you instead. :thumbsup:
