Lobo took a lot of WFU money for many years and was terrible at what he did. Not just bad. TERRIBLE. He severely hurt the program and the perception of Wake (it's sad that the public perceives schools through sports but they do). Yes, much of that is Grobe's fault for not canning him 5 years ago, but a good part of it is also Lobo's for staying on when he was lethally incompetent.
Hurt it so bad, we couldn't even get a coach like Clawson to come here.
I'd disagree about hurting the program. He has had 4 NFL lineman drafted (Looney, Justice, Clabo, Vallos), unless I am missing someone, who have all been on the 53 man roster. Teams carry 8 lineman making Lobo a coach of 4 of the top 256 lineman in the world. Not too shabby for "LOWF". Obviously his techniques, etc. were legit.
I think the biggest problem with our last 5ish years was recruiting, and that goes on all the coaches. Didn't recruit good enough players/leaders, didn't win ball games.
"Hurting the program". Billboards, Cussing out coaches (AFTER THE FACT), "Go to Hell" comments don't hurt the program? I don't think he's the best OC in the world. But he certainly proved he was competent at times, and was part of the winningest staff in Wake Forest history. He was let go because the staff as a whole didn't win enough ballgames. I sure wanted something to change. I think wake is better than 5-7. BUT, I don't think kicking a guy when he's down is ok either. But if that makes you internet tough guys feel better about yourself, carry on.

GROW A SACK Zqglass? Lobo was very available publically. You guys can be straight out nasty on a message board. But would shudder at the thought of saying anything to him to his face in person.
