Chat Thread 128 - CHRISTMAS VACATION

you can use an old sheet if you don't have a tarp around

I find bmoney's use of acronym's particularly annoying. Don't know why. Maybe cause he's got a kid and seems responsible.

I couldn't find my tarp yesterday (or since I moved) but as I was loading up my huge wheeled trash bin I kept thinking how much easier it was than using a tarp. However I haven't moved leaves with a tarp for like a decade so maybe it is easier than I think.

There is no lifting involved, and you should be using less effort per pound of leaves to transport them.

I should have expected solutions to be offered by the men here. Moving leaves is just a thing that needs to be done, and raking is how I shall do it for now. I need the exercise anyway. My fault for mentioning it with a tinge of whining. Also I did cut back the branches from my neighbor's tree that were touching my house, after talking to him about it last week. And I tried to transplant a little holly bush some birds planted for me, but I probably killed it. Ah well.

Just booked a hotel for a wedding we're going to in Richmond next March. I was all worried about how far the hotel was from the reception site until I remembered I will be 35 weeks pregnant still...

But it's cool. Keep using the acronyms. I'm the one who has a problem and must learn to deal.

I'd probably need to make more trips, and I feel like pulling a heavily loaded tarp would also hurt my back.

I've never used a leaf blower and just imagine it making a huge mess. Maybe someday I should borrow one and see if it is actually more efficient than raking into neat piles.

Somebody steal your tape deck?

Nope, they actually didn't take anything outside of $4-5 in change. Luckily I don't keep anything of real value in my car. They did bust out my back right window though, so that sucks. Fucking stupid poors.

woe is brasky?

Also having your car broken is just a terrible feeling. I've been a morose state since I discovered it yesterday. I guess that what I get for leaving it over night in an area that's still not completely hipster gentrified.

Woe is me over tags, woe is rtq over leaves, and woe is brasky over his car. We are a woeful bunch, though brasky has reason to be bummed.

I think it's pretty funny that if RTQ posts about being sore from doing exercise/work, everyone offers solutions to make it easier on her next time, but people post all the time about being sore from working out/running/etc. in here and not a peep is heard. At this point is everyone just conditioned to offer RTQ advice, regardless of the content of the post?

Both of our cars broken into in the span of a month? Austin, in decline.

Yeah, just never leave change visible in the car. Some peeps have no qualms about breaking out a windshield for 50 cents even. When I first moved to Ardmore a cop told me to get rid of all my car change for that reason. Luckily we're also on a dead end street with not much foot traffic.

i've given up on that because she usually rebuffs the advice, explaining why she doesn't go that route ($, convenience, assumptions she has already made, etc)

I'm about to hit up Asheville for the rest of the week, no woes here. Just bears and good food.
